Anyone disappointed with the reviews Iron Man 2 is getting so far?

Iron Man 2 reviews

Anyone disappointed with the reviews Iron Man 2 is getting? The reviews for it are totally different than the first one was getting at the same time. That really sucks as I was hoping it was going to be good but I always forget how sequels suck 99% of the time.

Iron Man 1 was an over achiever, and thus this movie obviously ended up having too much to live up to. Iron Man 1 was meant to be a typical popcorn summer movie but it ended up being better than that, whereas this sequel is more in line with that and isn't as surprisingly good.

While the first movie was all about the creation of Iron Man with some relatively serious conflicts that stemmed from that, this movie doesn't really feel like its really going anywhere, with no true antagonist (there is one, but the plot / character developments just don't fit and form right). If anything it sets up the Avengers more than telling its own story.

the previews I've seen make me think it will either be fun and worth the experience, or a colossal train wreck of douchebaggery.

Can't say that any review would disappoint me...

I hate being bombarded with the full-press media blitz for a movie when it's not even out yet. fuck you burger king.

WTF i was walking through the mall and one of the screens in the food court showing news snippets said Iron Man 2 wasn't as good as the first one.

annoying :colbert:

Isn't this movie out yet over there? It's been in cinemas for a week here. Im saw it last Thursday.

Typical of our standard military training exercises. All of our biggest bombs are tested in the most isolated parts of the world before being released on the general public.

I dont know but I have tickets for midnight showing on Thursday. Iron Man 1 was just supposed to be a whatever movie but ended up really good. Kinda hard to beat the first. Batman did it though..

Seen it. It's pretty weak. I really liked the first one (rare for comic movies for me). The Michael Bay comment above is pretty accurate, but the dialog between Stark and Pepper really killed the movie for me.

Saw it yesterday in Seoul. I guess they released it first abroad to beat the downloaders. I agree with the majority of reviews that it wasn't as good as the first but still decent. It was worth the cost of admission.

Never saw the first one ... take a guess about the 2nd.

I stopped consuming the crap that Hollywood puts out a long time ago.

I wasn't all that impressed with the first movie.

It wasn't BAD, it just wasn't GOOD.

Of course, I'm NOT a Robert Downey Jr. fan in the slightest...that may have "colored" my opinion slightly.

Hmm... it is bad to already hate a movie because of the annoying commercials associated with it? Between the Burger King commercials, the Dr. Pepper commercials, and the LG commercials (especially the LG commercials!), I'm already rooting for the movie to be a flop.

i loved the first one... and am psyched about the second one..

i dont give a crap about reviewers... they dont know crap about movies i like.

as for ATOT's opinion.... ATOT hates all 'comic book' movies. Everyone knows this.

Wolverine got bad reviews, but it was still a great action movie for entertainment purposes.
