anybody remember having a computer before Windows existed ?

i cant remember if it was before windows existed or not but it was an Apple 2GS... family still has the computer in boxes....

i remember at the time computers that people had at home were Apple or IBM compatible... those were just about the only 2 choices

Almost during all times there were plenty of alternates out there. However most of the non-geek types had no clue the number of machines made, some possibly superior....however IBM had the foothold in the office so people wanted them at home and Apple in the schools and likewise people wanted them at home.

The Amiga series which my brother owned, (I had a 386 at the time) was a clearly superior machine, however not supported like the others (hell, commodore didn't even support it with software...this was a big crippling to other developers jumping on board)...
