my first computer, about 1982, i was 17 at the time. Sanyo 8086 ibm compatible machine. ran MS DOS (not the more popular PC DOS of the time). 2 5 1/4 floppies. came with a copy of WordStar.

First was a TRS-80, followed by an Atari 400 and an 800, then a 8088 XT, and getting into 'recent' machines, a 286... never used windows 3.1 because I never liked it. Only went to windows95 because it seemed that every game coming out had to run under it.... there you go.
