Anybody know why Frozen is being released in 3d overseas and not here?

i was actually looking for the 3d bluray of this and didn't see it and was wondering why. i could have sworn that it was shown in 3d in the theaters.

It was shown in 3D. It even has several scenes that were clearly designed for the 3D aspect.

I read somewhere that it will be a Wal-Mart exclusive.

Not sure if Digital 3D is different, but Fandango lists showings in Northridge.

Edit: you mean home media. Dear god why?

I think 3d is awesome and a nice "option"/choice to have (if one likes it).

I'm not exactly sure why there is so much hate towards it.

I find most 3d movies to be more superior to 2d (but that's just me).

When I was buying my TV (2-3 years back) I went with 3d simply because the option cost me $70-100 bucks (at the time).

Why not? Cost was a none issue and the difference in price was small enough.

Mind you, I wouldn't pay $200-500 for such option.

We don't really watch 3d a lot, but when we do it's really cool. We enjoy it.

Amazon uk

cool thanks. ill probably wait until it's released after reading over on bluray.com. some say that disney is picky with regions, so even though amazon says it is region free there is still a chance it isn't.

The US leads the world in trends, and our current trend is 3D sucks.

3d "trend" has been dead for at least a year or 2

Also how you know if 3d sucks. Do you have a 3D TV? What exactly sucks about it.

How is 2D movie watching superior to 3D?

3d sucks so it's not surprising the rest of the world likes it.

atot and the nerds of the internet hate anything popular, so it makes sense that people on here hate it.

3d just adds another visual element to it. people saying they "hate it" probably have never seen a nicely calibrated 3d movie, or they are one of those people who get headaches or simply can't enjoy it due to being uncomfortable.

that said, there are definitely some movies where 3d just doesn't add anything to the movie that would make it better than the 2d version. one such movie that i've personally seen is world war z. i got the 3d bluray because it was like $16 and after watching it, i would have been just as happy watching it in 2d as 3d.

but then a movie like many animated flicks such as finding nemo or wreck it ralph, the 3d just adds another dimension to it that makes it visually more enjoyable. same with jurassic park in 3d. it adds another element.

definitely not surprised that atot doesn't like it for the most part. most people here don't like anything that is fun or popular.

And I'm actually one of those people. I hate Apple, Facebook or anything "popular" that people flock to.

3d though, I'm cool with it.

Do I use it alot? Not at all. But we do watch Avitar once a year and it is pretty amazing to watch in 3D (probably one of the best 3D movies out there).
