It's like a fireworks show, the lighting is so constant there's no time between the thunder. The sound just keeps rolling on and on. It's finally starting to die down.

And before I get the "useless without pics" people yelling here's a video.

I lived in the Phoenix area for close to 9 years and remember the monsoon storms well. The dry air creates one of the most spectacular lighting storms I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot coming from Oklahoma.
 
I had some pretty hard hail here in Tempe...I just got back today from a 12-day trip and this is what I come home to 😛 My power even went out for 10 minutes! Hooray for brand new apartments that have weak wiring...or something.

Wait... a monsoon takes out your power and it's "weak wiring"? Wow hahaha 😛
 
Monsoons were one of the coolest things living in Tempe...I remember my first one..It was the hardest rain Ive ever seen. Oh ya...you all have fun cleaning up all that dirt thats gonna be covering everything tomorrow
 
DANG!! The lighting was awesome, but then I got stuck out in the hail, in my new car 🙁 Had to drive about 15 mins. Its still pouring, and the thunder is like a crazy subwoofer going off..I've been thru some crazy storms in TX, and was right next to those tornadoes that destroyed downtown Atlanta in March, but this is definitely up there
 
Cool video, we had a storm like that in the NE about a month ago, the lightning was going off constantly and it was raining super hard, of course the power cut out briefly as well after a lightning bolt came pretty close to my apt. I love sitting outside on a porch during huge lightning shows like that, the feeling you get is intense!

Our power went out for a few minutes, first time that has happened in a long time. The lightning was spectacular and scary.
 
My power was out for a few hours. Not exactly sure when they fixed it, as I went to bed. It was like a bad horror film in my place while I was looking for my candles.
 
power was out till this morning because a pine tree in my area took out some power lines, didn't see any hail damage on the car but it certainly sounded bad on the roof.
 
Fun storm.

Unfortunately, I had this waiting for me when I woke up courtesy of Mr. branch

Not wanting to be left out, the whole family decided to tag along for the short ride down to earth. Thankfully, Mr. shade took most of the damage.

I was lucky though, as this was laying on the truck just a few parking spaces down from me.
