BB is selling the CD for $9.99. Although it is a great price, I'm still on the fence.

Just get the digital download from iTunes/Amazon. No tax, no gas money to go pick it up, and instant gratification.

But nothing physical to show for it.

I bought the $14.99 Vinyl+CD Combo.

I prefer Rush of Blood to the Head. But they are both great albums. X & Y kinda blew. There were a few decent songs but I though the best songs weren't released with the CD, I got a number of them from a European edition (extended about 6 more songs)

Pfff, I only listen to music in my car (iPod touch) or my computer, so I don't really give a rat's ass ;) And I haven't even seen a record player in about 20 years.

I also prefer Rush of Blood to the Head; particularly Daylight and God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. I liked X&Y, though. My favorite track of that album by far is What If.

I'm surprised Coldplay has done so well. I mean, they had a few really good songs. Rush of Blood to the Head was a great album (and a great song). The second album doing so well is what prompted the third album to fall short. Speed of Sound was a great song if you didn't get stuck hearing it on the radio. I don't listen to the radio and didn't overplay the album...so I'm not sick of them. I just don't have them in any of my playlists right now.

I haven't listened to Coldplay in probably 6 months and know nothing of their new album. They are very talented, but may be getting to a place in their career when they need some serious writing and producing help. Many of their songs have the same sound and become a blur. I don't doubt they'll sellout since they're likely going to run out of money if they keep living the lifestyle. I just don't know how much longer they can ride the gravytrain in the US. They've already started losing their fanbase.

Watching them on the Today Show this morning. They did about four songs. They sounds absolutely, dreadfully HORRIBLE live. I mean, it's BAD.

That's not typical.

I've seen many "live" performances on TV of theirs and it's always been great.

Something with the audio/band must have been off...

Sure. I didn't like X & Y as much, but sometimes I'm in the mood for some mellow tunes and I'll throw a little Coldplay into the mix. I haven't heard the nw album yet.

Yep, sometimes. Never really got into the last album, but the 2 before it were very good IMHO, particularly the first one, Parachutes I think it's called (the title track is rubbish though).

KT

I thought X&Y was terrific. Not as good as their two previous efforts...but still full of plenty listening goodness.

Yes....finally someone has said it. They are merely average at best live an dthat is the best case scenerio. They are not as bad as say blink 182 before they made it big (wow...it was bad), but they are certianly are not that good live. I remember watching them perfrom Yellow live....man, it was bad.

Yeah, and I actually love Coldplay, so I'm not being evil or just bashing them. They sounded really bad.

On the other hand, I watched them perform two songs on The Daily Show Wednesday night and they were pretty decent. They performed 42 and Lost.

I guess it's hit or miss with them.

Well, they're only got four total. Just get them all.
