What about full-sized Standard Poodles?

Those things are kind of cool - you can use them as a head rest when they are laying down too, and they feel like a big ball of shag carpet. :)

We are fairly confident our last dog had some standard poodle in her.

Anyway, I basically despise all small dogs. Yippers. Small-dog syndrome, something that seemingly all the small ones have.

All toy dogs, for sure. If it can fit in a small hand bag, I want to punt it. They are like large rats at that point.

If it's over 30lbs (or will be, such as a larger breed puppy), I'll probably like the dog. At that point, it's in the hands of the owner to make it a good dog. All the bigger dogs can be awesome pets, but half of the equation is on the owner. Pit bulls can be tender and loyal little babies, in the hands of the right owners.

poodles are ugly, thats why i don't like them

toy poodles. complete bastards. French poodles--the large ones, right? are effing smart. I still don't like them b/c of their snooty frenchness, though.

Also grey hounds, and those tall super thin dogs that look like cardboard cut-outs of grey hounds. No particular reason, they just look creepy and gross to me.

But I love dogs.

Most if not all small dogs and Basset Hounds

wtf is wrong with you? how can you hate basset hounds?

i agree with you on most/all small dogs (aka appetizers), though. they annoy the hell out of me and i wish i could let my great dane and neapolitan mastiffs off to play with them like toys.

my poodle is 22 lbs, apricot in color, doesn't get groomed to look like an annoying show dog, not a yipper, doesn't shed, snuggles, faithful to the end. if you met her, you'd love her.

You left out, smarter than most of the posters in this thread.

Ehh ... not a fan of tiny small dogs.
Favorites are Labs, just cause that's what I had when I was a kid.

Yeh, I didn't want to start any more hatin' than there already is, but... they are like second in intelligence, behind the border collie which is #1, in rankings for dogs... so... yeh...

I hate cats that have not been declawed and male cats that have not been neutered.

Just kidding ;)

For dogs, anything hyper active and/or aggressive. Which tend to be most small dogs and a few larger breeds as well.

Also I dislike dogs that don't have real "fur" to pet. Poodles and Yorkies and many Terriers I can not stand to pet. I prefer medium fur dogs as well. Not that I dislike the shorter or longer fur ones, but just gravitate to like petting the medium fur more.

As for cats, basically anything that gets sassy, stuck up, or is aggressive I can't stand. If it's fun, friendly, like to be pet, I have no problem with the cat.

Not a fan of cats in general and I also dislike yappy ankle-biter dogs. I like dogs of medium-size or larger and love the sporting and working breeds.

Those little yappy dogs (chihuahuas especially) that bark at anything and everything - I want to wring their little fucking necks. I also hate the dogs that pussies buy to try to make themselves look tough (eg, pitbulls). Otherwise I love most dogs, and almost all cats.

I don't like dogs in general, but I particularly dislike Pekingese dogs. They're ugly, and surly, with dingleberries stuck to their asses. I really like cats, but I'm not a fan of Persians, largely for the reasons above, but they do have better personalities.

I respond to each animal I meet based on how they and I get along, and I've really never hated any dog or cat I've met.

Jeez, get a life, folks. Y'all sound like fussy, whiny, mini-bigots in the making.

If my 10 pound cat can kick its ass and eat it, it is not a real dog.

My kitty used to play nice with other small animals, then one day a neighbor brought over his hyperactive minature schnauzer which annoyed my cat to the point where we discovered a near unconscious dog being throttled by my cat. Just like mutual of omaha, cat had a death grip on throat of the schnauzer. That dog had 5 or 6 pounds on my (front declawed) cat, what a pussy (pun intended).

Ever since that day, my cat wants to kill pretty much anything her size or smaller.

This 2x.

One time when I was a kid, our good neighbors asked us to watch their dog at our house while they were on vacation. It was a Shih Tzu - cute dog but a complete princess.

Well, we also had a pair of Maine my excellent compatriot kitty brothers that weighed in at about 20lbs a piece. They all got along fine the first couple days, but one time the dog refused to move from one of the cat's favorite chairs to sleep on. The cat leaps up and tackles the dog to the ground. At first we  and then we ... the cat was tearing the hell out of the Shih Tzu. The dog didn't stand a chance and we had to split them up before the dog got hurt badly.

I've met a couple good small dogs, but way too many yippers. Some of those things must have major insecurity issues. My stepmom tried to adopt a Jack Russell Terrier. That thing was fucking insane. Certifiable. Amazingly, they found someone willing to take it. My dad and stepmom's other dogs are awesome. (A couple rotties, a german shepard/golden retriever mix, and a mutt).

Bigger dogs seem to be so much more fun, calm, and relaxed than little dogs once they get past puppy-hood. It seems like little dogs never grow out of that.

Weimeraners, Cocker-Spaniels, Chihuahuas, Shar-peis, Yorkies, and pretty much any spoiled rotten toy breed.
