Anybody else scared to have ANY alcohol and drive?

It's College World Series time here in Omaha NE. I care not for sports, but:

The school I'm getting my MCSE through has a tent setup right outside the stadium. For students, FREE beer, burgers and dogs.

Mmmm, beer. MMmMMMM! Beer AND college girls. 😛

But, I'm so freakin' scared of having two beers and getting pulled over and getting busted.

When I was younger (we're talking a LONG time ago) I admit that I got MESSED UP on a regular basis and drove. Thankfully, I never hurt anyone nor got arrested. It was stupid.

I have not been "over indulged" behind the wheel in at least.....oh, 7 years or so. I'm too paranoid.

I just had my counselor call me she asked "where the hell are you? We're partying!!!! Woooo!"

No. She's nothing to look at, but that is not the point.

The area is POLLUTED with cops b/c they know there will be drunken college kids on the road.

Two beers does not even buzz me...but who wants to risk it.

The easy solution is "Go but don't drink beer!"

Now what fun is that?

I've heard that for an average person, 3 beers in an hour will put you over .08. That does nothing for me.

Take a cab. You can get wasted and not worry about it, much cheaper than the risk of getting caught.

waitman

Hmm, a CAB is an excellent idea.

But at a big event like this, cabs will be hard to come by.

I may just go and have a couple of beers and lots of food. And make damn sure I'm careful.

Just do what my friend did, steal a breathalizer from a cop car. then you can test yourself before you drive. actually this has been used more often as a tool to see who has had the most to drink and ends up making a huge competition to see who can score the highest.

Nothing wrong with drinking AND driving.
It's after you drink that problems usually arise.

There is no reason, none whatsoever, why anyone should be driving drunk. The DUI laws are very easy to follow. I have zero pity for those people that get DUIs. If you are that much of a selfish prick that you take your life and the lives of other people into your own drunken hands behind the wheel of a car, then you deserve every bit of punishment you get. I think the current DUI consequences are too weak.

I agree that nobody should be driving if they are drunk. I also agree that DUI drivers should be shot.

I decided not to go. *WUSS* 😱 Too many drunk KIDS, too many agitated cops. I'll stay home and watch a movie.

Wise choice, MichaelD, especially considering the possible extended ramifications of getting busted by the policia. 😉

I don't drink and drive, at all. Having a couple of beers is just a tease that would make me want more.😀

Edit: No, I'm not too scared to have ANY alchohol and drive, but I'm not stupid enough to get nicely drunk and drive though.

The laws here aren't as bad as some European countries. Poland, for instance, has a legal limit of .01 before you're drunk. For almost everyone, that's a single beer or a single beverage.

1-2 beers doesn't even get a lot of people drunk. Lighten up.
