no registration by political party is required in texas anymore. in the general i've voted for candidates from both majors in just about every election i can think of. the only primary i've ever voted in was this past democratic one because i wasn't going to miss the first worthwhile presidential primary in texas in forever. plus i wanted to see the weirdo process the democrats have down here. i should have given them a spam email address, though.

Don't make it our problem.

But in keeping with the thread... I have no affiliation to a group of people. I'm caught in the middle and vote with my gut, not with a group.

I grew up in Utah but then learned to think for myself. I'm now independent/moderate because I see both sides of the coin in many issues. It's too bad we can't have an a la carte party -

Universal Health Care + Flat Income Tax = WIN WIN!

I was just hoping for a mere informal poll without copius amounts of P&N backlash.

UHC + flat tax are incompatible. You can't have your waffle and eat it too.

Yes. I went from being an idiot, who listened to everything politicians said, and believed it, to figuring out my own views.

So, I changed from Centrist-Left to Conservative to Liberal.

I'm pretty left on rights, abortion (pro-choice), legalization of drugs while right on things like smaller government, 2nd amendment, capital punishment. With the way things are going though, I've moved over to libert.

Still registered as a Repub though and won't change it since I want to vote in their primaries.

Demo -> Repub -> Libert

That's like saying you can't put butter AND syrup on your waffles.
Of course you can, you just have to do it right! Butter goes on first.

I switched from Republican to the Libertarian / Leave Me Alone party after I realized that the Republicans want just as much government as the Democrats.

The more I listen to Ron Paul, the more I realize he's not as nuts as I thought he was.

I don't want government to provide anything for me, aside from national defense and roads. For everything else, I'll go out and earn it myself. I certainly don't want them anywhere near my health care, retirement, etc.

It depends on if its cake or pie.
