Anybody else find it disturbing that in order to live, you must take life?

<< huh, i wonder how hyenas and other carnivores survived since they don't eat vegetation
>>

Are you asking me to speculate? Someone just asked me to show what the Bible said. Obviously many things would have changed after man's fall from perfection.

After the "Flood of Noah's day", man was now given the option to eat animals (Genesis 9:3).

EDIT: This topic's premise is badly flawed as I pointed out earlier. Plants don't generally "take life" to survive.

yeah they're pretty passive. they get other organisms to do their dirty work, like fungi or bacteria

I was walking by the library last fall, and a peregrine falcon had snagged a pigeon. it was devouring it on the library roof. Really cool for me, as I'm something of a peregrine falcon fan :)

Anyway, I thought it was great, and I mentioned as much to a friend-who-is-also-a-vegetarian, and she wasn't so sure. Guess I've never given thought to the necessity of death/taking life, but apparently some people are very much concerned about it.
