Not I

I have a few friends that are. Since you are one, do you take vitamins or some type of supplement for protein?

I've been a veg my entire life and I'm of a minority known for being short. I just happened to grow to 6'1'' and hold my weight around 170-180

So... what do you graze on?

:p

Food without meat? When I was young I just drank a lot of milk, and ate PBJs every day at lunch with some doritos and fruitsnacks and then ate dinner which either consisted of veggies, pastas, vegetarian ethnic foods, all sorts of stuff. That was what I ate every day from the age of 5 to the age of 16. (oh and bfast was cereal + milk).

Shenanigans

One of my roommates is in better shape as a result of his swimming past, but because he is always eating meat (home cooked not even fast food BS) his Cholesterol is 100 pts higher than mine (i'm at 109).

Yes, but that excreta is in its original form inside that meat...i.e. Hot Dogs? Veggies are at least 1 degree of separation from that level of poop eating.

So I grew up way taller than average and of good build. Additionally, I'd say I'm of at least above average intelligence scoring the 98th percentile in the SATs 92nd percentile in the MCATs.

Definitely abuse eh.

EDIT: As far as that "study" of kenyan children, I think that test probably had something more to do with the kids that didnt get meat having not much to eat...additionally I believe a LOT of intelligence is genetic, I dont think you can just equate and group of kids and their performance in school to eating meat--thats ridiculous.

All Indians are not known for being short. It depends on the region.

See this is were the Vegetarian mantra gets nutty. As if not eating animals, raised for food is saving them somehow. I seriously doubt you take environmentalism seriously. Are you driving a car, eating animal by-products from animals that most likely will be slaughtered in the end, or creating waste with non-bio degradable materials? I'm most certain you are. My brother and his wife are both vegetarians, and frankly they aren't the annoying vegetarian types either. The ones that try to explain how great it is, and how to free yourself from your slavery to meat. Basically just getting to the point that it's just a way of eating, not some life altering occurance.

No doubt the nutrition is mostly there, but the main problem with *meat* is moderation. Anything in moderation is fine. Tell me that if you ate nothing but a single type of food you could survive. No single food provides all the nutrition you need to live a healthy life. That's the problem of the "balanced diet". I think one of the chief advantages of not having meat in your diet, would be eliminating the majority of excess cholesterol from your meats. Other than watching your cholesterol intake, watching fat and portion intakes would be important as well. Though those in themselves are not related to meat/vegetarian diets, but individual responsibility while eating.

Text a link that vegetarians may want to look at. There are pros and cons to both dietary plans.
