Any supplement for convenient extra calories?

I eat pretty well on the whole, but I only get two (really big) meals a day due to college cafeteria schedules. I bring some food back for smaller meals during the day but I'm still not getting enough calories... is there a handy supplement out there that gives me a good mix of carbs/protein/fats and the extra calories I need in a convenient form? I could do without the fat, too.
 
Well, the reason I asked for something convenient (like a shake) is because I don't have a fridge or ice or a blender. Or an oven or stove or anything, etc. The smoothie idea sounds so good though...... I may consider buying a blender just for that.

Smoothies provide a LOT of sugar usually. Why not just make a protein shake? All you'll need to buy is a shaker bottle and figure out what you like. 2 scoops of whey + 1 tbsp olive oil + 1 tbsp peanut butter + 16 oz milk + 2 eggs = a helluva lot of calories, which are more balanced and less sugary. It usually just tastes like cake batter if you don't include the peanut butter. It's a protein and fat dominant shake, which is pretty much the opposite of the smoothies. I keep my sugar intake pretty low so to each his own.

....I have never had a protein shake that tasted anything like cake batter, and I've made pretty similar to what you suggested. What kind of protein are you using?

Anyway, a hybrid of those two...a protein smoothie that's somewhat light on the smoothie part...might be a good compromise.

I remember using chocolate ON whey and without the peanut butter and it reminded me almost exactly of cake batter.
 
Interesting. My last batch of protein was ON, the current one is not but its almost empty. Maybe I'll have to pick up another couple pounds of the ON whey, I liked that a lot better anyway.

It's really easy to get carbs into your diet. Protein is a little bit harder. I'd suggest the protein route especially since a lot of those carb powders are just full of sugars.

I would suggest a whey protein powder and powdered milk. You said you lack a refrigerator, so powdered milk is your best option. A blender or shaker bottle (not just a bottle, you need something to help mix/agitate the contents) is a good way to go. If you want some fruit juice, get some canned juices to mix with the protein powder. I don't know where you are, but there's a hispanic brand called Jumex that has soda can sized juices in a variety of flavors.

Perhaps a question that's been overlooked is why you want the extra calories. Why do you? Do you feel you are too thin, are you feeling hungry often, are you trying to gain muscle mass?
 
Cyto Gainer has worked fine to get me the calories that I need for the past 18 or so months.

500x easier then any home-made concoctions recommended here and a good blend of carbs/protein.

The amount of sugar in the smoothie depends on the amount of sugar you add. I use natural peanut butter, skim milk, and sugar free yogurt. The sugar in the fruit is there by design. Then again, I do a ton of cardio and need lots of carbs just to function properly. But even for the non-triathlete the carbs in a smoothie made the way I make them are all healthy.

The amount of sugar in the smoothie depends on the amount of sugar you add. I use natural peanut butter, skim milk, and sugar free yogurt. The sugar in the fruit is there by design. Then again, I do a ton of cardio and need lots of carbs just to function properly. But even for the non-triathlete the carbs in a smoothie made the way I make them are all healthy.

I'm moreso addressing the people who are telling him to make an all fruit smoothie. If you add a banana, milk, some strawberries, blueberries, and other stuff, you can easily get 100g of sugars at once, which your body really doesn't need in one sitting. I'm trying to avoid a jamba juice situation here.

I'm bulking but I can't get enough food from two sittings at the cafeteria. I bring food back, but it's still not enough.

I am also in college, here are some of the things I do to get enough food:

-I buy 4-5 lbs of chicken breast/lean beef from the grocery store and cook it all on mondays. Lasts me till friday. Its a lot cheaper than college food too.
-Have cans of tuna/salmon/chicken breast to make sandwiches or to throw on top of noodles.
-Get Quiznos Chicken subs with double meat. A large makes 2 meals. I get one for saturday and one for sunday.
-Cottage cheese is a great bedtime snack and its loaded with casein protein, a much slower digesting protein than whey.
-Drink milk with every or every other meal (I eat 5-6 "small" meals a day).
