Weird all the members in this thread that joined in October 1999, does that correspond with the WMC event?

No, WMC was in 1998 I think. 10/09/99 was the date AT moved to Fusetalk from UBB.

Nope, they had moved to Fusetalk long before that, maybe a year or more before. On 10/09/99 our member database died, and every single poster had to re-join -- hence the oldest join-up date you will ever now see is 10/09/99.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Stupid memory, it's been way too long. 😀

[edit] W00t, Rush postcount FTW

I avoided the WMC fiasco but got great deals from Value America.

Oh god, the early days of stackable Value America & Staples coupons were incredible. Value America especially just got raped into bankruptcy by the emerging tech deals/hot deals websites.

The $749 (??) Wal-Mart laptop was another incredible deal.

(I was a lurker for around a year before I finally registered).

I got the $50 check.....

RKS, we must have re-signed within minutes of each other on 10/09/99, because you are # 754, and I am # 709....

I think I was on here when it happened, but I wasn't in on it. Being like 13 I didn't have that kind of money, misprice or not! I did later get a good deal on one from Onvia though.

I didn't get the monitor, but I did get a check. I wasn't one of the people that cried for months because I didn't get the monitor.

1999, wow, almost a decade. Thought it was yesterday. I was a member at voodooextreme, people were excited over the Hitachi monitor deal there too.
