Any one who smokes?

I try to quit, but my body refuses to comply 🙁

I must have quit like 100 times or so (not really exaggerating here either)

I don't refuse to quit, but I'm getting tired of failing everytime I try.

I've heard some people state they wouldn't, but at times they still try. I think when people say they won't do something, it's mostly bravado. When Seatbelts became mandatory, many said they'd "never", but they did, for eg.

i tried a bunch of times.
i was a heavy smoker for years(about 15)
i quit new years day this year and havent looked back.
no it hasnt been easy, and yes i still get the cravings but they are less frequent.
i feel physically so MUCH better not to mention my sense of smell and taste is improved.

quitting smoking is a win win situation no matter how you look at it
unless you are terminally ill, than ya i get that...id probably take up smoking again.

My roommate smokes. He tried quitting, gave it up for a week, and then started again. I don't think he's really ready to quit because he doesn't see it as a priority and figures he'll deal with it later.

One word: Chantix. Pfizer saved my life.

Chantix fucked me up big time. I did well with the lozenges, but gained a ton of weight so I decided to start again.

Smokes are due to go up to $7 a pack on April 1. I am going to have to quit no matter what then.

Smokes are $9-10/pack in the NYC area. I quit a year ago after smoking for 15 years.

I see lung cancer patients almost daily. Many of them go back to smoking even after having a section of their lung removed for lung cancer directly caused by smoking. Many of these people know they can greatly increase their 5 year survival rate by not smoking and they still smoke. I think the most was like 6 packs per day on a 100 pound woman. Her lungs were probably like charcoal.

oh and p.s. Even after a year not smoking, seeing hundreds of lung cancer surgeries, seeing people suffer and die from smoking, I still crave a cigarette. Anyone who thinks it's not a serious problem is diluting themselves.

This is why I hope Smokeless Cigarrettes will work for me. At the very least they'll improve my Health, both now and into the future.

I switched to Swedish snus, and nasal snuff. I still smoke a cigarette every so often, but I don't *have to*.

It probably sounds bad, but I enjoy smoking.

I tried quitting a couple times, but in the end, it was something I enjoy doing.

There's nothing quite like sitting out on the veranda on a nice sunny morning with a big cup of coffee and have a smoke.

Nobody would deny cocaine and heroin are also extremely enjoyable too. Doesn't mean you should do it. I agree with you that smoking can be very enjoyable. I miss it a lot, exactly how you said it. Sometimes it's a great way to take a break for 5 minutes and enjoy the scenery. It doesn't take away from the fact that it's hurting you and the people around you.

I try to have a cigar once in a while to satiate that desire but I started getting addicted to that too so I stopped to see if it was an issue. I haven't had a stogie in 3 months.

Holy crap, did she do anything else during the day?
She literally chain smoked non stop all day. One cig like every 8 minutes. It boggles the mind. I thought it was a mistake on her chart. My (non biological) grandfather was close to that I think. He was retired and sat home in a cloud of smoke all day. He went through like 3 cartons a week which is a little over 4 ppd. He of course died to lung cancer. It's really amazing how the body can tolerate that punishment for so long. When we got some effects from his house, they were so covered in tar that it looked like someone poured maple syrup over everything and let it dry out.
