IMHO Rumours is the best album ever recorded.
It has sold more than 20 million copies, making it the 4th best selling album of all time.
This is pretty impressive since it was released in 1977.

I'm a fan... I never thought Stevie had outstanding vocal ability... but she and FM had an incredible ability to find/write songs that were perfect for her voice. After Stevie went solo, she had a back-up singer who sounded a LOT like her. Her back-up eventually made an album with Stevie Nicks as the back-up, reversing the roles. (Cat Dancer was the name of the album... Sandy Stewart? I've forgotten the name)

edit: Yeah, it was Sandy Stewart. It was back in 1984, during the summer between high school and college for me. I was a dj at one of the local stations. I was probably one of few who gave her any airtime. Back in the good old days when dj's didn't have a play list of 15 songs that they had to play every hour.

If you have a chance to watch 'The Dance' on PBS, do. Or rent it. Watching Lindsey Buckingham play Big Love is worth the rental fee.

I like Fleetwood Mac, but not the lineup most people consider to be Fleetwood Mac. They were SO much better in their pre-McVeigh/Nicks days. Their best work is their early British Blues period, by far. Best albums IMHO are: Then Play On, Self Titled, English Rose, and Pious Bird Of Good Omen. Anything after that is pure pop garbage. At least I think so :p

This means you are getting older. lol

Notice old people today don't listen to the "rock" stuff that was popular when they were kids.

How can you list that Poser band "Boston" with the likes of FM?

Unique and awesome?

I'm sorry, but Boston sounded like a million other classic rock bands and had VERY marginal talent.

Agreed. It was just too damn sad that Tom Scholz tore the band apart with his lunatic beliefs and political BS.

Well they had the talent to play commercial crap well. I still change the station when one of their songs come on just like I did when they first came out! Now you want a good band from Beantown just look at Aerosmith

In 1976 Boston's sound was quite fresh. Not as fresh as Van Halen's sound in 1977, but still good.

Heh, too me, talent = originality. Give someone enough time with a guitar and they could mimic 80% of this crap that is so popular.

Mimicking isn't the point. All the great composers through time are easily mimicked. It is the ability to come up with the material in the first place that makes them great.

Depends on what you consider "older" I'm 34 and still listen to KISS, Steely Dan, old Aerosmith, Led Zep, Deep Purple, etc......if you ask me the amount of good music recorded after the 1970's is very very small. Probably wouldn't fill one CD.
