I HATE carpet

my room has hardwood, the whole lower floor has hardwood, and if i could my car would have hardwood

but i like rugs, when i was in india i bought a silk rug the greatest purchase EVER!

I agree. A good hardwood looks a lot classier, is easier to clean (imo) and generally looks a lot better. I don't mind carpet in bedrooms, so that's what we have at our home.

Say what? Have you ever lived in a non-carpet home? Almost no decent home these days has carpet as the primary floor covering. I haven't seen any at least.

Yes, I have. It's a personal preference. I hate hard-wood, tile, etc. I've never had a house that had only carpet in it, but if I ever build one or do a significant remodel, it definitely will.
 
Hardwood sucks in the winter when you're too tired to throw on socks before stumbling over to the coffee maker in the morning :frown:
 
carpet = odor, allergens, dust, hair, bugs and vacuuming.

hardwood or laminate = none of the above and easy to keep clean.

not to mention no static electricity either.

Funny that older people all see carpet as being luxurious. I guess you'd have to grow up with poor heating and cold wood floors to understand 😛

thats why you get really nice wool socks and stay warm and have a nice time

I concur. I've always picked apartments with vintage hardwood floors. I cannot stand carpeting but a nice small area rug can be cool as long as it ain't fluffy and pink.
