I got a question for you all ..

It is funny that Sandforce makes this controller and its up to to the SSD manuf to write their own firmware?

OCZ already did the sleep bug thing and release their firmware last week. Then what is A-data doing now? Writing their own code and its still in beta ?

Ok,All this what I received from Adata.

Unfortunately, the vendor is still working on a FW update for the temperature issue. We do have a RC4 FW, or 3.5 available.

What is everyone talking about here, the SF1200 or the SF1222? Or do you mean both as in SF12xx series?

I just got my S599 yesterday and I have the old 3.4.3 firmware. I put it to sleep and cum back, there is no BSOD. I am using it on my laptop with a AMD chip.

Is there need to update to 3.4.6?

My advice is if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I bought 2 of these rebranded Microcenter 64GB SSDs a couple weeks ago ($79/ea). One had 3.4.3 on there. The other had another version. Can't remember what it was. I went ahead and flashed both of them to 3.4.6.

I'm using one as Windows 7 64-bit OS drive, and the other as a disk for current favorite games, and may install other apps that could use the HD speed boost on there (any suggestions)? I have an additional 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 for data and backups. I'll eventually convert my original OS drive (another 1TB F3) to my backup drive.

I haven't had any BSOD issues. Everything is working well (after figuring out how to handle SSD alignment issues). Oh, one thing, though--the OS drive is showing incorrect temps, the other drive is fine. Doesn't bother me too much for now, since I know the OS drive is not really hot. I'll keep looking for the next firmware update, though.

If you have an Intel Chipset, update your drivers to V10

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=19607

Try it , it solved my BSOD after sleep. Did some research and found a thread on OCZ forums with folks with the same SF controller and sleep issues. Worked for some of them and worked for me. Before the update my controller was the standard Microsoft drivers qnd it not only showed the standard IDe controller but all the ide channels. After the update it now only shows the Intel AHCI controller.. Maybe the issue is with Microsoft and I am even on SP1 and still I BSODed... Try it and post back and let me know if it works for you...

Update: I has been 72 hours and I have not had 1 BSOD!!! Seriously if you have an intel chipset you have to try this...

sweet it worked for you! great news!

I emailed Adata tech support and explained to them my find on the OCZ forums that lead me to the fix. They are please and I was told it will help them with the end user. Fact is Microsoft needs to update their drivers ASAP... Now I am not sure how this affects AMD chipsets but I do know I have a 780 AMD chipset at work with the Adata drive and have never experianced the sleep issue... Personally it seems to me to be an Intel issue...

No wonder I never had the problem. I have always been using the latest Intel driver.

I have a question on firmware upgrade.
My Box is running as following:
BIOS setup as RAID
OS running is WinXP PRO SP3
2 X WD 10K Raptor RAID 0 as First Harddisk (C/D Drive)
3 X S599 RAID 0 as 2nd Harddisk (E Drive)
as per my understanding, firmware upgrade tools will NOT detect SSD from RAID,
I've try break the RAID and run the Firmware upgrade tools, but no luck (no drive detect)
from the post, seem all people running the tools from Win7, did anyone upgrade success from Window XP? beside, should I currently unplug my XP raid and setup to run as AHCI, install windows7 to single SSD and perform the upgrade? just don't want to affect my XP Box.

Yes,You may have to break the array and flash with Windows 7.But I would wait till the new firmware is released.Which should be out soon hopefully.

I have now built 3 machines with these drives for customers 2 Intel and 1 AMD and with their most recent chipset drivers they DO NOT suffer from the BSOD issue coming out of sleep. I have 5 machines of my own running these drives, 2 HTPC's, 1 Media Server, 1 Laptop, and my Gaming rig. 3 are AMD and 2 are Intel. Since updating to the chipset manufactures latest drivers the BSOD issues are gone. Sorry to hear it has not fixed everyones sleep issue and I would say make absolutely sure you are updating to the latest driver. In my limited knowledge I believe the problem resides with the Microsoft standard IDE/Sata driver.

hans007, are you sure you had the latest AMD CHIPSET drivers? I know personally downloading the latest catalysts do NOT include the chipset drivers. You have to search and download these seperately.

yeah - as mentioned, it was 3.4.6 on the adata + the 10.1.0.1008 intel drivers on a dell mini netbook, reliably BSOD'd on wake. also tried a couple newer driver files without any change.

I definitely had the amd achi driver. Tried more than one version.
