Im sort of in the mood for an RPG but I just cant stand point and clicks. Looking for something pretty deep, pretty stat heavy. I like the fantasy/wizards/dungeons schtick a lot but am open to all suggestions. Hint: I like loot. Lots of loot. Finding a new weapon or piece of armor is awesome.

I tried Risen, played it for a good while, thought I liked it, but I got to the second act and the game just feels very small and somehow unsatisfying. There also wasnt much to really find it seemed, loot-wise.

Of course I loved TES games. Didnt much care for The Witcher, the acting killed it for me but it was a neat concept.

Whatcha got for me? Any suggestions?

So no Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect 1-2? They're all good.

The 3D essentials:

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Star Wars KOTOR I - II
Neverwinter Nights I - II and user modules
Dragon Age: Origins (not DA2!)

The 3D OKs
Drakensang

The 2D classics - gog.com
Baldur's Gate 1-2
Icewind Dale 1-2
Planescape: Torment
(Sci-fi: Fallout 1-2)

If you also like FPS games, what about Borderlands? As evident by me mentioning FPS games, it isn't completely similar to the RPGs mentioned here, but it definitely has lots of loot. :p

The newer Fallout games would be your best bet. If you played Oblivion then you're already fairly familiar with the mecanics of the engine, just it's an FPS instead of FP+melee. Also obviously isn't in the fantasy world (which IMO is a plus... midevil fantasy is way overdone).

Even though you didn't like The Witcher, I suggest you play The Witcher 2. The quality of the voice acting and characters skyrocketed to an order of magnitude better than those of TW1; to the point where TW2 has the most interesting characters and storyline of any other current RPG.

The best things going on right now are Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and that aint saying much. Will look into Divinity 2 cuz I'm not familiar with that.

I finished the main story of F:NV. I liked Oblivion much, much better. Of course I loved ME and ME2. Some great suggestions here, I appreciate it!

Just finished Mass Effect 1 last night....great game...felt like I was directing a movie by my actions. Fallout 3 was slightly better IMO. These have been the best RPG to me so far.

You haven't told us what you've played. Is Dragon Age Origins too obvious to mention?

Goodness...RPG???

STALKER is a great game, but 'cmon, an RPG it is not. It is a shooter, with some light "RPGish" elements.

Diablo
Diablo II + lord of destruction expansion
Borderlands - with friends
Dead island - after they fix the bugs
Sacred
Titan Quest

Borderlands is a good game in single player, you find MASSIVE amounts of loot, but the game really shines in co-op multiplayer.

Fallout new vegas seems like its more fun then fallout 3.

It's not often suggested, but Alpha Protocol if you can get it on the cheap. You can do a search for the .ini file changes that make the game run much smoother. I've finally started playing it (after buying it a few months ago during a Steam sale for $5) and it's actually very good. It was really only hammered for it's technical issues and some of the clunkiness in navigating menus.

I think those were the "point and click" rpg-lite that the op was trying to avoid.
