There used to be a tavern called Laws that had the best seafood chowder I've ever tasted. Not sure if it's still there or not though.

But it's much more fun to go late at night and hope you don't get murdered in the process

This man speaks the truth.....the 2 am garbage plate is a wonderful experience that just gets better with the fear of being mugged or shot afterwards.

I second the recommendation for Dinosaur BBQ.....you should definitely eat there if you have the chance. DiBellas (subs), Mario's (Italian), DaVinci's (Italian), Rick's Prime Rib House (Steak), and Pizza Cafe (Pizza) are also good places to eat. I haven't eaten at either Tastings or Aladdins, but I've heard that they are very good as well.

wow, Laws. That place hasnt been around in quite some time. I believe its now the Beale st. cafe. Good cajun food.

Still curious as to why someone would ask if there is a good place for lunch anywhere without stating what kind of food they are looking for. Of course there are good places but they are subject to each persons likes.

Yep. Probably should have thought about that before I posted. I was just listing some of the good restaurants I can remember eating at while I was there.

3 miles of chain restaurants over by the mall, if you don't want to go the local eateries route.
i.e. the ubiquitous denny's, IHOP, chi chi's, red lobster, etc.

By your :( face, I'm guessing the meal wasn't worth it? I've had several meals in that range, or even more, that were worth every penny spent. If you look at dinner as just go in, eat, and leave, all within 30 minutes or so, it's hard to justify such a price. But, when dinner lasts for a couple hours, it's wonderful.

Ah good ol' Rochester :D

http://www.tomwahls.com/ <---They have some really good burgers and fries. They have a ton of coupons in the phone book too. I forget who their direct competitor is, but its pretty much the same since they'll take either coupon.

Also, I second the notion that you hit up Dinosaur's BBQ. Good atmosphere and some really good food.
