<< The only crew that reps Boston >>

Maybe, the only moronic thug crew that reps Boston. But the Bean has a strong underground scene at this point in time.

Skitzofrenics
Earth Vs. Stars- Adam12 of Dept of Rec and CheckMark from Sktizos
Revenge of the Herbs
Skitzofrenic State- F/ Esoteric & Virtuoso

7L & Esoteric
Bound To Slay
Speakin Real Words F/ Inspectah Deck

Akrobatic
Internet EmceesMilitant Raw

Virtuoso
Orion's Belt F/ Esoteric & Mr. Lif

This is a DJ Vadim (Super dope DJ from Russia) track off of Ninja Tune records feat. Esoteric, Mr. Lif and Virtuoso

The Higher Standard

Not to get into a underground vs. commercial debate here, like what you like, but to say that Made Men are the only crew repping Boston is ridiculous

And if you want tons of info on Boston (and underground stuff in general) then venture to Undergroundhiphop.com

DEFINITLY the Roots, they're great. Even though it's already in mosdef's list, I gotta list Common again, he's a genious, listen to "Like Water For Chocolate" - astounding album. And Slum Village is another name to look at, "Climax" is one of their better tracks IMO, another good group

The Roots put on the best live show in hip hop, bar none.

And in my opinion run neck and neck with Ween for the best live show period.

Is there a chance that those of you who have said "no, not any" could have skipped clicking on the thread, or were you's just looking for a flame war?

Here's a few "mainstream" ones I got to list, seeing as mosdef covered the "underground" and not so mainstream ones.

Kane & Abel - Straight Thuggin
Jay-Z ft R. Kelly - Guilty Until Proven Innocent
Joe ft Mystical - Stutter (remix)
Mystical - Danger Been So Long
Lone Star Ridaz - City Of Dank
Outkast - ATLiens
The Murderers - If You Were My Bitch
TQ ft Ja Rule - How Can I Be Down
Big Pun ft Donell Jones - It's So Hard
Bizzy Bone - Thugs Cry
Drag-On ft DMX - Niggaz Die For Me
Beanie Siegal ft Memphis Bleek - Who Want What
Eve - Maniac
Memphis Bleek ft Jay-Z - What You Think Of That
Mobb Deep ft Nas - It's Mine (remix)
So Plush ft Ja Rule - Damn (should've treated you right)
The High & Mighty ft Mos Def - B-Boy Document 99'

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll post again if I think of more...

I wouldn't really consider High & Mighty "mainstream" but if you like them, make sure you catch The Smut Peddlers. It's Eon and Mighty Mi, with Cage (the guy Eminem bit his psycho white guy routine from)

I don't consider High & Mighty "mainstream". It's just that I was listing songs and added it in. Most of the songs I got on there are mainstream though. I still say the not so mainstream stuff is the sh*t though. That and Bone Thugs and the old Outkast sh*t. Pharcyde is pretty good at times too. What's the title of the song ft Cage?

Smut Peddlers have a few tracks out. It's not really High & Mighty feat Cage, they bill themselves as Smut Peddlers. But that's just semantics. They have one Smut Peddlers track on the Home Field advantage album, In-Outs. They are on Rawkus also and just dropped a 12" "Porn Again," and released another in the fall called "Medicated Minutes" that has 2 bangin tracks. One is "That's Smut," and is off the proverbial hook. They did a "pornoween" show in NYC this halloween. They had some porn star (I don't remember which) on stage with them and Cage had a camera on his Mic, from the people I have spoken with who were there, it was pretty, umm, dirty.

atomic, no one asked for you to comment. From what I could remember he asked for someone to suggest some good songs, not comment on the genre of music he likes.

Normally I'd post something about how biggie (a.k.a. Notorious BIG), DMX (getting worse, have to admit), and Eminem (not because he makes good music, but because he's funny to listen to) own all the losers already posted here, but there are too many bad and useless posts here, so I won't even bother. Good luck on your search.

Green Day hasn't put out any good music since 39 Smooth
Offspring hasn't put out any good music since thier first album (I forget the name right now, so it must have been good)
Blink 182 hasn't put out good music, ever.
Nirvana's best album was Bleach, Smells Like Teen Spirit was OK.

Follow the herd much???

Pretender- Biggie is THE most over rated emcee ever, followed closely by DMX.

LOL read my mind :)

And in DMXs defense (even though no artist has ever fallen off as bad as he has), he used to be great. Back in 98, no one could touch him. So he has the potential, he just went mainstream and his lyrics $hit the bed...

I only listened to DMX's first album once, and it wasn't bad at all. But not really my thing. I fear the quality of an artist's albums if they are releasing one every 6 months.

I admit DMX is getting really really mainstream. His music is slipping. His flow isn't as good as it was on "It's Dark...". "And Then There Was X..." was kinda sh*tty. It had it's good songs like "Fame" and "One More Road To Cross" but then there were those mainstream songs like "What These Bitches Want" and the likes, now that ruined the album. He'll get better, hopefully, if not, then damn. He's one of my fav emcees. He's been my fav since before his first album came out. Damn, at least he didn't release a sh*t album 6 months after the latest one...
