My dad always used his children to clean the gutters. Much safer for him.

I've seen an extension that you put on your blower.

As I get older....damn ground is hard and I don't want to fall on it.

Worth having a pro put the right gutters with leaf screens. Not the surface tension crap.

Many gutters will have an anchor brace every 4-6 feet. the robot will have problems.

you willhave to do what yoiu fear most.
Expose yourself to ridicule (well that should not be uncomfortable for you) and get on the roof.

Climbing the ladder to do the work unles the ladder is actually braced agaisnt the house can damage the gutter.

Then get a pressure hose and shoot your wad.
After that get a trowel and dig out the left over mess.

Repeat until you get a smooth flow.

Or pay someone a few sawbucks to do the work for you. You can afford it.

We used to jump off the roof...~8ft...I don't bounce like that any more.

Yeah when I was a kid I used to jump down flights of stairs and stuff, I can't imagine doing that now without hurting myself. Maybe not break anything, but I'd definitely feel it the next day.

We used to also jump off 12+ foot roofs into the snow, those were fun times. We don't get that much snow anymore so it would not be safe for a kid to to that like it was for us. Back then we'd easily get 6+ feet of snow. Now we're lucky to get 3.

SE Pay EK $100/year and you'll be good. Sounds like he's got experience doing gutters.

well i am afraid of heights and don't want to go up there at this age. i may have to hire a gutter cleaner or replace the whole thing and add those leaf shields. i only cleaned the gutter once in 10 years. :\

err, cover your gutters with gutter guard and never have to clean it again? Go to supplier and buy it, not home depot.

Do you need to replace the gutters? why spend $$ if not needed.

If in good condition; get them cleaned and then put on leave guards.

I have a compressor that I use with a Air attachment and a long extension stick.

Best solution I found to date. No ladders and it does a great job.

That's a huge POS. I bought one awhile back and it couldn't budge the stuff in my gutters and I ended up having to remove it all by hand.

Plus there's the bolts every few feet that connect the gutter (at least on my house) to the house itself and it cannot get past that, which requires moving the ladder every few feet anyway.
