almost a civilized response. nice, subtle personal attack there though. why can't you see past our differences? can we just let it be and be friends, please? :awe:

Just because he made an "almost civilized response," it doesn't mean he wants to take warm showers with you until the wee hours of the morning...

We're staying with some friends while our (new to us) apartment is being renovated. I'm about to tackle some tall second-story gutters here for them...chock-full of pine/fir needles. HOPEFULLY, their teenage kids will actually climb the ladder.

BoomerD's fat ass on a ladder is like a gigantic lollipop...and can create a solar eclipse for several states.

a ladder and a leaf blower is all you need to clean your gutters in about 5-10 minutes.

i had always cleaned my moms gutters by hand, removing the stuff and tossing it in a bag. now that i have my own house and a leaf blower, i decided to give that a try and holy shit i couldn't believe how simple it was lol.

i did get some of the siding of my house kind of dirty though in certain areas so watch out for that if the leaves are wet and dirty.

Since the OP is afraid of ladders...his next best tools to use are these:

That's a huge POS. I bought one awhile back and it couldn't budge the stuff in my gutters and I ended up having to remove it all by hand.

Plus there's the bolts every few feet that connect the gutter (at least on my house) to the house itself and it cannot get past that, which requires moving the ladder every few feet anyway.

LOL, that doesn't surprise me. I'm sure it works great on dry leaves though.

I thought that it was designed to go under the bolts?

Leaf blower and a PVC pipe long enough to reach the desired height with a couple of 90 degree elbows on it to direct the air back down once you get it up there with the long length of PVC.

If you have a leaf blower this is by far the cheapest way to get this task done from the ground.
