I hear that Bleach is good (i want to get into it) and i just finished Samurai Champloo which was very nice. I'm liking Afro Samurai at the moment, haha. Samuel L does a good job in it.

midori no hibi is quite funny. serial experiments lain is really great, confusing at times. noir is good as well, if you like female assassins. good story line.

Woo, glad you mentioned it. I was beginning to worry when I was going through the other replies and no one had. The new series Naruto: Shippuden premiers today with a 1 hour special. :)

Oh wow totally forgot about that... all I heard was the fillers were ending this month. Thanks for the heads up. I completely skipped the fillers. :)

This is a list that someone posted earlier, I'll give my opinion on them (being that I have a collection that probably rivals just about anyone on here ). The problem I see is that most of these are 13-26'ers and the OP wants > 26.

Prince of Tennis - This show will not appeal to everyone. It's very hard to explain why even I watch it as you can consider it "Tennis Ball Z." Also note that a lot of people complain about repressed homosexuality in the show, especially with the bishounen shots (amplified by the sweat glistening as well).

X - Watch the show, not the movie. Although, if you would rather watch a quick version, that's essentially what the movie is. Since it's CLAMP, there's also the repressed homosexuality between Kamui and Fuuma :p. Only CLAMP series I recall without repressed homosexuality is Chobits.

Gunslinger Girls - Alright show.

RahXephon - Alright. If you liked Evangelion, you may like this.

Wolf's Rain - Fixed your title, by the way. This show was alright, but it never kept me latched onto it.

Full Metal Alchemist - Alright. Has decent twists in the show and it's longer than 26 episodes (50 if I remember correctly). There's also a movie that extends beyond the show (Conqueror of Shambala).

Serial Experiments Lain - May want to include the last part of the title ;). This show is boring, although a great street lamp simulator.

Hellsing - If you haven't read the manga, you'll like the anime, if you have, you'll hate it. The anime diverts after a couple episodes into its own little universe, but the newer Hellsing Ultimate OVA keeps true to the story (so far).

Scrapped Princess - This one never drew me in, so no comment. Sitting on CD :p.

Fatal Fury the movie - Not a bad movie for a video game turned anime conversion. Always been a fan of the ending theme "Oh Angel" though.

Noir - Alright.

Geneshaft - Never made me want to watch it, although I have it.

DNAngel - No interest :p.

Ruruni Kenshin Movies, aka Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, Reflections. - Only watch up to the Kyoto arc in the TV show, the rest is rubbish. Kyoto Arc ends around.. episode 54 I believe. The Amakusu Shougo part may be interesting (it follows the Kyoto Arc), but it wasn't part of the manga.

Bleach - Probably one of your best bets for a long-running shounen series. Fortunately, it didn't fall to its untimely death like Naruto did (and damn did Naruto fall hard). Essentially, you can watch up to the end of the Seireitei Arc and then skip to the Arrancar arc. The Bountou arc was boring and way too long.

Hmm as for my own recommendations, I'm having a hard time trying to think of a good series with some decent fighting as I tend to watch either shounen shows or comedic animes, but I'm wracking my brain right now thinking of some...

New Fist of the Northern Star - You may enjoy this as it's a decent fighting anime, but it is fairly gory compared to most animes where you will literally see someone's head or other body part explode.

One Piece - This is one of the more popular shounen animes available today and it's fairly long (about 286 episodes released so far, 212 from KF if I remember correctly). The show is different than most as it has a fairly delicate balance of comedy, zaniness and action all rolled into one. The one thing that makes me watch this is the characters actually seem to have more personality than most shounen shows. The reason why I watched Naruto for awhile is because I liked Rock Lee's personality (and I like ninjas :p), and One Piece has plenty of 'tude :p.

Mmm can't really think of anything else that's somewhat mainstream (easier to find). If I remember anything, I'll edit this.

I know a lot of people are hesitant to try sports anime, but if you're willing to give a boxing anime a shot, go for Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirit is the title here). Seriously a great show; great story with fantastic fights.

Other than that, take your pick of any of the Shonen Jump titles (HxH is a SJ, too). One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, etc. Hell, even Dragonball. Dragonball skews a lot more towards comedy and adventure, while Bleach, Naruto, and Dragonball Z focus much more on the fighting. One Piece is a damn awesome mix of the styles. Feel free to skip episodes 136-220 of Naruto, unless you really want to sit through 85 eps of filler. :)

Togashi hasn't died, but he's still on indefinite sick leave as far as I know. The manga really needs to finish up this ants part and move on, it's not nearly as good as the earlier parts of HxH. Of course, getting weekly chapters that were scarcely more than scribbles didn't help either.

He should just storyboard the stuff, and then hand it off to his assistants. I mean, they pretty much have to completely redraw everything for the tankouban releases anyway due to the scribbling.

Oh yes, OP, if you want another work by the same author as HxH, you could try out Yu Yu Hakusho.

The last Naruto filler was the last episode of the series, episode 220, which was last week. Episodes 136 to 220 were fillers, so if you watched to 110, you never even got to them.

Air Gear
Elfen Lied
Shingetsutan Tsukihime
Ergo Proxy
Fate/Stay Night
Blood+ (50 episodes, fighting, interesting, anti-American in a way?)
Haruhi

Have you ever seen D Man Gray? Very interesting anime i think I'll be watching for a long time. Some episodes are serious, and some are funny so there is a pretty good balance.
