Golf. Just go to the driving range every day. Swing harder. Eventually the right muscles will be built up. I never pumped iron to help my driving distance, and I average in the high 200's (for comparison's sake, Tiger's average this year is 295.4 - source). My longest drive ever was 404.😀 I haven't played a lot this summer, but my best score was a 76 this year. Pretty good, huh? 😛 You guys keep practicing, we'll have an ATOT golf tourney some day...I'm trying to build my power for greater distance..... what kind of exercise should I do?? bicep?? tricep?? shoulders?? chest??

ok, all you idiots who claim to "consistently hit it 300-320" realize that there is only one PGA Tour professional averaging 300, right? that Rich Beem averages 291 and he is 15th in driving distance? you average 260-280 with a 3 wood? bullsh*t. and if you do, it's because you de-loft it so much that you have no control. i'm a scratch golfer and teacher who averages about 285 off the tee. i play all year with idiots who tell me they "average 300" of the tee, yet i'm past them all day. one drive, downwind, one day does not an average make. you do realize that your muni courses lie about the yardages, right? they want you to think that you're killing the ball. it keeps you coming back. if you knew you only hit it 250, maybe you'd quit. if you average 260-280 with a three wood, and you're a 20 handicap, you should try tennis.
bigjohnkc is right. the only thing you can do is play. get lessons, tell the pro you want distance. he'll show you the correct form. work on your stabilizers--abs and back, especially the obliques.

What do you mean Tiger hits 310-320 at most? Don't you ever watch some of the tournaments he's in?
Last tournament, he was hitting some balls 340 yards+ on the par 5s.
