fighting fires rocks. 🙂 i quit my VFD when i moved a few years ago. all of the departments around here are paid.

Not blaming you exactly, and hell, it might just be the NYFD only, but exactly how much stealing and looting goes on by the fire department while they go in to the location.

There's a seriously justified reason why NYPD and NYFD don' t like each other. The reports of all the looting and stealing during 9/11 and also during that crane accident that landed on that building is simply mind boggling and how the fire commissioner Visconti (sp?) had the whole thing swept under the rug is just disgusting.

There's a lot of serious scum in the NY FD.
 
It's NYC, brothers don't even get along.

Of course, everyone in the NYFD loots, just as everone in the NYPD is bent. 😀

NYPD and NYFD hate each other? News to me, considering I have a good friend that works for the FD that says the opposite.
 
I've heard similar stories about NYFD from NYPD cops. I have no idea about their veracity, but it's heard of.

This story involved large sums of money being found with crushed NYFD fire fighters.

There are criminals in just about every line of work.

I'll be willing to bet that if you're ass is in a burning building, you won't be calling them a bunch of scum.

I was for about 20 years. I let mine expire after I got hurt.

I've been both a first responder and worked on HAZWOPER clean-up sites.

Fuck that...no more "moon suits" for me. 😀
 
Screw firefighters in general. They get paid wayyyyyy too much when you compare their salaries to police.

And as the icing on the cake, they have enough free time to find a 2nd FULL TIME JOB. What a frickin joke.

Well, the funny thing is that I don't remember taking the class, or ever doing anything hazmat related whatsoever. But I have the certificate sitting in my lock box with my name and SSN.
