Past few years The Killers have easily became our favorite band of all time. I kind of stumbled onto them few years back when someone on VW forum talked about them....ended up buying their album and wasn't too thrilled about it at first. One day on the way home from a daytrip I popped it in and it all changed. It's definitely the kind of music one has to give few tries (I think). Can't say I'm the biggest fan of their mainstream stuff (not a fan of the human). Most of their "none mainstream" songs are great.

Weird cause we mostly grew up on Hip Hop, Freestyle > progressed to Heavy Metal/Rock etc (in general we listen to just about every kind of music).

Wife initially hated it, now she is a HUGE fan, we pretty much play The Killers every day of the week. Our kids know all the lyrics too (and play some songs). They are pretty kid friendly (which is a must for us).

We just attended their concert at the Barclay Arena (which btw was amazing).

If you like The Killers,:thumbsup::thumbsup: to you.

PS. Our favorite driving song Mr.Bright side remix (from Sawdust Album)

Yes, I love the killers. I hate remixes of songs so I know what you linked is going to be horrible(for me)

I went to one of their concerts for their debut album.

They caught my attention with Battle Born. That entire album is really good, especially the first couple of tracks ("Flesh and Bone", "Runaways", "The Way It Was", "Here with Me", and the title track, "Battle Born"). I enjoy it while driving.

Never listened to them before that. I like them, they have a very 80s vibe reminiscent of The Cars (who are still making music; "Move Like This" was a decent album, very fresh for a band that hadn't released an album in nearly 25 years).

Yeah they are pretty good when you're in the mood for it. Check out Kings of Leon you might like them also.

Of course! Been one of my favorite bands since the epic Hot Fuss. Sawdust is also a really great album. And most recently Battleborn did not disappoint at all. They continue to make great music.

The Killers best! Sorted by album:
Smile Like you Mean It
Somebody told me
Mr Brightside
All These Things That I've done (best of the best!)
Sam's town (both versions)
All the Pretty Faces
Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll
Show you How
Shadowplay
Sweet Talk
Under the Gun
Human
Losing Touch
This is your Life
Battle Born
Here with Me
Runaways
Flesh and Bone

It's an actual killers remix (with assistance of some DJ). They did the Flesh and Bone remix as well (some kind of tradition, just like their Christmas songs)

I think one of the reasons I'm such a big fan is because I used to love Queen back in the 80s.....and Mercury's death really touched me (heck entire Europe...if not the world).

I like to think of them as "The modern Queen". Killers def have Queen influence.

Check out all of their older albums. Outside of few mainstream songs (which I'm sure you have heard before) they are really brilliant.

Brandon Flowers (lead singer) and the drummer also have solo album. I don't have the drummers but we love entire Flowers album (but it did take few tries before "getting it").

I wonder how many actual "killers" like The Killers. Kind of like how I wonder how many cops like The Police.

Ugh. No.

Killers are awful. They're a ready-made arena-rock band.

To me, they're the Nickelback of the indie-ish world.

I love The Killers, saw them in Boston back in December, one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Here's my favorite recording, a live mix of "A Dustland Fairytale" done with an orchestral section: It's amazing!

Sounds like you are "too underground"/good for them.

I understand

hehe

lol not at all.

I simply don't like their music. It just seems too simple.

I'm not a fan of the Arcade Fire either for pretty much the same reason.

it's ok, we all have different tastes. Nothing wrong with that.

Personally I wasn't a fan of their music either first few times I heard it. It took me couple of tries before it sank in.

Weird.

:) I was gonna go to that show.....but ticket prices never went down and $100+ was a bit steep.

one of our favorite Killers songs! They actually played it at Barclays!

And by far one of the best Music videos I've seen past decade or 2...

There are some bands which are acquired tastes and which get better with repeat listens.

The Killers are not such bands. Everything is obvious about a Killer's song on the *first* listen-through (just like a Nickelback song).

I think I will.
It usually takes me a while to get to a band's older works since I listen to a very, very wide range of music and have a few albums I'm listening to at a time.

Yeah some good tunes. 91X and 94.9 fm radio stations play them a lot in San Diego.
