You're also used to throwing your money into a bottomless pit so it should all work out.

Not sure what you mean. Rents down here right now are bargains. Most are renting at a net loss just to keep the property afloat.

My mortgage on a $265k home with taxes and insurance (another $6000 a year) was $2200.

These homes are $500k homes for a little more. I am just paying cost of living at that point and will save the difference I will be spending on my next home as a down payment for it.

I am debating if that's going to be too much house for just my wife and I though. I sort of want a three car garage though and the lesser properties seem to lack them.

I am also exploring land contracts where I just finance with the property owner.

.

YES you want a 3 car garage. I love my house but the one thing i made a mistake on was only getting a 2 car garage.

though you don't have kids so it's not as much of a issue. but having the extra room for stuff is nice.

Holly crap that is awesome. I did not think it was real but a good find to point out what you might be like. Napoleon Dynamite come to mind when I saw that pic. Napoleon Dynamite also said "This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bow staff." :awe:

I walked into a shop around the mid to late 1980's and bought a golf umbrella (big and strong) for around $10 IIRC. It's still my umbrella, although I have one of those mini umbrellas that broke and someone tossed and I fixed that lives in the trunk of my car.

I've fixed that golf umbrella many times, and it still works great. Total protection and real tough in all but a gale. It says "Palm Springs Golf," blue and white, alternate segments.

FWIW:

I preferred the solo over the duet. Mostly because the duet was too big for me. Also the duet has a strap that the solo does not. That wasn't really a big deal breaker for me as I typically just throw it into my bag. the solo doesn't fit well in my car, but i drive a cavalier and it probably doesn't have as big of a comparment as your M3.

i might get the duet for my golf bag for use out on the course. friends don't typically bring an umbrella so they're sometimes stuck getting soaked standing under a tree  the duet is freaking huge...could probably have almost three people under it

pics?

The duet is not that large, about the size of a normal sized compact umbrella (50" or so) open.

Davek makes a nice golf umbrella.
