4. Just got done with freshman year and I can honestly say it was the best year of my life.
5. Best part was meeting new people, partying, just hanging out with friends.
6. Worst part is I regret that I didnt make the most of my experiences my first year.

What is your major?
Expected B.S. Physics (theoretical), B.A. Mathematics
What is your GPA?
4.05/4.00 overall GPA, 4.06/4.00 Physics GPA, 4.17/4.00 Math GPA
How has your experience been?
Exceptional. A small, prestigious school gives ample oppurtunities for any and all things; I'm spending the summer designing widebance impedance matching networks for the real-time detection of electron motion (the lab group is the first to ever detect in real-time).
What do you like best?
Exceptionally talented/intelligent peers; intellectual student body, but very down-to-earth.

What has been the worst part?
Rigorous coursework.

I am starting college next fall and from what I hear it is going to be a big change and a signifcant part of my life. I am very excited to be challenged and to find out what I can do. I am living in the dorms at Iowa State Univeristy, majoring in Computer Engineering. My earliest class is 10:00! Anything I should keep in mind while I make this transition?
Make sure you get your problem sets and such done right when they're assigned; you'll get them out of the way sooner (won't have it looming over your head), and have more free time to meander. Also, don't pick all your classes as late as possible; sometimes it's better to get them out of the way in the morning to give you the afternoon/evening to study or get problem sets done or just goof off/party.

Have fun :D.

transferring from the University of Washington in Seattle to the University of Hawaii next fall.
Information Technology Management.
0.0, my GPA at UW, which was 2.84, does not transfer. I only get credits transferred, and start fresh with the GPA.

Going away to college was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Alcohol.
Being away from the girlfriend, whom I am now broken up with anyway. sigh.

Freshmen year:
Georgia Tech
Computer Science
3.0

Incredibly geeky - more so than I expected.
You knew you could get alone with everyone because you could always talk about technology
The social life at tech was fvcking awful, and I didn't want to go through college with that type of social atmosphere

-----------------------------------------------------

Currently:
Ohio State
Real Estate and Insurance
3.1

It has been a blast
National Champions! Defintely the social atmosphere.
Some people hate the fact that you go to school with 50,000 other people, but I love it. Classes can be hard to get into.

Just a pointer. Have a predetermined signal with your roommate for "don't come in the room, I've got a girl over" so they don't bust in on you. :p Yeah. You know all those wild stories your friends/older brother/etc told you about the parties, the drinking, and the girls? It's all true. Well, at least for frosh week. :D

Physic s GPA = 3.2, overall = 2.5 i hate stupid graduation requirements
good
no idea what i like best or worse. im graduating next yeaa and i like that

Funny. I've never heard of a liberal arts major getting a 2.5 because of science and math classes!

Really, that's all I hear. I was an EE in college at Johns Hopkins and I had a 4.0 in my non-engineering classes. I always here the Liberal Arts people complaining about having to take science classes.

I?m not a liberal arts major that the porb. I?m a physics major. I hate taking English and history. They are killing my GPA

You take my physics class, I will take your English and History classes!

I started college trying for business. I was pulling mostly 2.5's, and once in a while I would spike above 3.0. Then I got smart (was denied entry to UW business school) and decided to try Engineering. So far, after 3 quarters of EE and an additional 3 quarters of pre-reqs, my quarterly averages have been 3.7 and above. Too bad business screwed my GPA up so bad that I can't recover a good overall GPA.

Best part is just being on your own and you don't have all the BS busy-work of highschool....
