Used my dad's over the weekend.. real big Mead with computer contolled auto tracking and big lens... it's still just a dot but we could see the lower polar ice cap and some black surface markings. If you want a really good picture you will have to go to an observatory.

Yeah, my dad has a pimp 12" (I think) Meade... But he's 500 miles away....![]()
