Any1 know why my BIOS (Phoenix on ASUS A7N8x) reports my CPU temp as 47C, while the ASUS PC Pribe appln in WinXP reports it as 37C? Which one should I believe? Also is there any site that leads you throught setting up MBM5? mbm.livewiredev.com seems to be down.
And Oh, BTW, Stable @ 11.5*167=1920, 1.65VCore. I dont want to try go higher before clearing up my temp. issue. Cos it goes to 45 full load from inside the OS, and if the BIOS idle reports 47, who knows what that might be![]()
try touching the heatsink to see whether it feels much hotter than your body temp or not.
if it feels around the same temp, then it's 37C
if it's much hotter than 37C, then your bios is right
so ASUS PC Probe is correct.
usually no, the temp of the heatsink will be ~+2C of the die temp
or else your proc is beginning to smoke due to little or no contact, but i highly doubt it.
