I guess some people thought that Iran would be on our side considering their 8-year war with Iraq and their hatred for Saddam Hussein. Well, apparently, give the choice between Saddam and George W Bush, they would happily take the side of Saddam.

Huge anti-war march in Iran

The BBC's Miranda Eeles, who is in Tehran, said thousands of Iranians chanted anti-American slogans and carried banners saying "Bush is the new Hitler", as they made their way towards Revolution Square.
Demonstrators burnt US and British flags, and threw stones at the British embassy, smashing its windows.

Thousands of anti-war protesters also took to the streets in cities across Jordan, with some chanting support for Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, who has strongly opposed the war.

In an interview with a Lebanese newspaper, Mr al-Assad said he hoped the US-led coalition would not succeed in defeating Iraq, and warned that Syria might be America's next target.

There have also been large anti-war protests in other parts of the world, particularly in South Asia, following Muslim Friday prayers.

Yeah....protests by people subjected to years of state-run TV propaganda calling the U.S. the Great Satan really is a shock.

Thousands of people marching, out of how many millions?

Might need to do some research on the current state of affairs in Iran. That is one country that I believe we will not have to fight.

they are government organized rally's. Iran sides with the Iraqi people, not the government of Iraq. I don't think you would find anyone in that rally carrying and waving a picture of saddam

Protests(Illegaly) are also occuring in Egypt. The Egyptian government has had to allow the illegal protests out of fear from what putting them down might result.

Being that they can't protest against their own gov't, who do you think they're going to protest against?

Same goes for the rest of the Arab world.

What do you expect, they were spoonfed anti-American propaganda for their entire lives. They are nothing more than recently released wild caged animals who will turn on the hand that feeds them simply because they know no better. All this will take time for them to wake up and smell the roses.

Because no one could logically be against America's policies in the middle east, right?

"recently released wild caged animals" ?

You really need to come back to reality. They are human beings with the same intellectual capacity as anyone else. If you look for the reasons why someone disagrees with you, and the only answer you can come up with is that they aren't as smart as you, you haven't looked hard enough.

I don't recall belittling their intellect in my post

If only we weren't brainwashed by a lifetime of American propaganda we would be able to appreciate these protestors much better. But when news from the outside world accidentally reaches us in our zoo cages, we start rattling the bars.

Does it surprise anyone that protestors in Iran might be against America??!! ;)

Big shocker there!! I guess the fact that they have been chanting "Death to America" every prayer session for the last 22 years might have something to do with it......
