I don't buy for a minute that the Reps are not worried about Obama, esp after gleefully daring the Dems to nominate Hillary b/c they thought they would get another cakewalk. Since Obama has come onto the national stage in '04 he's been a walking God. The media is all over him, and his appearances attract thousands. His numbers are quickly gaining on Hillary, and I'm sure that is a cause of worry in many, many camps.
If they are not worried about him, they are about as keyed in as Rove was in late Oct '06 saying he's seen the #'s, and the Reps are going to pull out a victory.
Ok, let's go through this again...
Hillary=a threat to Republicans because all she has to do is get an extra few percent of the female vote and she wins, Dick Morris, who knows what he is talking about, has said many times that she CAN win.
Obama on the other hand does not have that advantage. Being a black does NOTHING to help politically; the Democrats already get 90% of the black vote, what little extra he brings to the table won't mean a whole lot. And as the Democrats on this board like to point out, the fact that he is black may end up costing him the vote of whites who might other wise vote Democratic.
