There have been massive anti-fascist demos pretty much all over the country.
All those demonstrations have been peaceful and the type of events you'd be happy to walk through with your kids. It's nice to see the quiet majority standing up for tolerance and unity and telling the far right to fuck off out of our towns and cities!

It's striking the difference in ethos of the antifascist demos that have been huge and peaceful and the far right demos that have been murderous riots. Remember that when someone calls the left the violent ones

Threads like this are so predictable I have to wonder why anyone bothers to post one.
It's a huge news event in the UK. Admittedly the OPs tying it in to US politics and assuming that the far right rioters had a legitimate grievance are a bit weird but it is a legitimate story.

I'm not a violent person but I like violence against Russkies.

I'm coming around to where I wouldn't even be bothered if your PM decides to shoot Elon down with a storm shadow!

I understand that, it's the presentation that makes the outcome obvious.

That's the problem with troll threads about real issues, they stop any real discussions.

That's the problem with haters of democracy!

Democracy allows them to demonstrate democracy doesn't work by just blockading any progress.

As stated by Gobbels (Hitler's #2) himself:

“We are an anti-parliamentarian party that for good reasons rejects the Weimar constitution and its republican institutions. We oppose a fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish, the industrious and the lazy, in the same way. We see in the present system of majorities and organized irresponsibility the main cause of our steadily increasing miseries.

So why do we want to be in the Reichstag?

We enter the Reichstag to arm ourselves with the weapons of democracy. If democracy is foolish enough to give us free railway passes and salaries, that is its problem. It does not concern us. Any way of bringing about the revolution is fine by us.

If we succeed in getting sixty or seventy of our party’s agitators and organizers elected to the various parliaments, the state itself will pay for our fighting organization. That is amusing and entertaining enough to be worth trying.

Will we be corrupted by joining parliament? Not likely. Do you think us such miserable revolutionaries that you fear that the thick red carpets and the well-upholstered sleeping halls will make us forget our historical mission?

Is our entry into the Reichstag the beginning of a compromise? Do you really think that we who have stood before you a hundred or a thousand times preaching faith in a new Germany, who have smilingly faced death dozens of times from the red mob, who have joined you in battling every form of resistance whether of official or nonofficial nature, who have bent before no command or terror, do you really think that we would lay down our weapons in exchange for a railroad pass?

If we only wanted to become representatives, we would not be National Socialists, but German National Party members or Social Democrats. We do not beg for votes. We demand conviction, devotion, passion! A vote is only a tool for us as well as for you. We will march into the marble halls of parliament, bringing with us the revolutionary will of the broad masses from which we came, called by fate and forming fate. We do not want to join this pile of manure. We are coming to shovel it out.

Do not believe that parliament is our goal. We have shown the enemy our nature from the podiums of our mass meetings and in the enormous demonstrations of our brown army. We will show it as well in the leaden atmosphere of parliament. We are coming neither as friends or neutrals. We come as enemies! As the wolf attacks the sheep, so come we. You are not among your friends any longer! You will not enjoy having us among you!”

This country is full of abject cowards, who can't even attach facts to their pants-wetting over THE SCARY BORDER(tm) Just lies.

This is really nothing new. In our history at different points the Irish and Italians were going to dirty up our purity too. Using fear of immigration to scare people into voting is a time-honored tradition.

So I need to post some links showing Texas being sued by the US to remove floating barriers on the Rio Grande and having us remove barbed wire at the border?

We put up barriers. The government takes them down. We shut down a park infamous for border crossingings and the government demands access.

Don't play dumb.
Texas belongs to Mexico. We should give it back.

I'm a touch confused here. If the voters elect an anti immigration president, isn't that democracy? Isn't that the will of the various states?

Thats because liberals only care about certain laws, but not all of them. They do not care about border enforcement laws.
Neither do you. It’s just a handle to pull in the racist crowd so you can keep enjoying low capital gains tax rates as you sponge off the workers.

Question for the OP. Assuming we didn't have open borders during the Trump administration, how soon after Biden took office did open borders resume?
Actually the biggest change was Biden's scrapping of "Remain in Mexico" for asylum seekers. He let them revenge migrate here en masse and even wanted to compensate those who were not able to get in during the previous administration.

Thats all they need from either side of the issue - peaceful protests. Where the anti unlawful migration side went wrong was to stop being peaceful. Now they are seen as radical.

But you remember our Antifa riots back in 2020. Those were not peaceful. And when the right responded with peaceful resistance they were met with left wing violence.

Yet the mainstream media downplayed or recharacterized left wing protests in the most favorable light. As if taking over part of Seattle and the violence that ensued was a good thing (CHOP zone).

Will you shut up man?

You quoting the right wing propaganda makes you look like a Russkie troll.

Just stop.. even AP knows to put out better factual stuff instead of clickbait.

If you wanna continue to look like a clown then by all means go ahead post that garbage.

Not taking the questioning of how you came to believe in the reality of things that are not actually real came to be, I see. This is the root cause of misery and the irony that it’s actually self inflicted.
