the San Diego people are great. Majority of LA people and SF people I found are awesome. There's just the percieved (and small) extreme liberalism and hollywood that gives us a bad name 🙁

People don't like CA because its major population centers are disgusting polluted smog-covered hellholes full of ignorant self-centered fascist elitists who think that progressive politics is pricing and legislating the poor right out of the state. Only in the LA basin can you have 365 unhealthy smog days a year but thank God you won't be exposed to secondhand smoke in a bar! Oh yeah, and your mortgage payment on that 2 bedroom fixer under the freeway is $10k/mo.

No, I believe you are mistaken, we don't have much smog in the SF bay area, it blows down to San Jose. And we still have plenty of poor people, trust me. Where do you think the majority of the illegal aliens are? As far as the ignorant self-centered fascist elites-they run everything in this country, where have you been? Hopefully more of these ignorant fascists will cash out of their expensive California real estate, and move to your state!

If it's a bar run by the owner(s) only, you can smoke in SF. The law is to protect the workers in the bar, not the patrons.

I find that Californians and Texans are waaay too similar. People from both states think that their state is by far the best place on earth and that there must be something wrong with anyone who'd consider living anywhere else. It's like "I'm a Californian (Texan) first, and an American second."

Yeah, they both are nice states, but no nicer than any other, and it kinda pisses me off (just a little) when they act superior.

What really pisses off right-wingers from all over the country? The fact that Berkeley is actually a really nice place to live and work. Yes, I lived in Berkeley for many years.
Berkeley has a world-class university, great weather, easy access to SF for cultural events, great restaurants (the California food revolution started here), ethnic diversity,
great parks, excellent city services, etc..
Sure we have problems like any city, mainly homeless people and criminals from Oakland and Richmond coming here to commit crimes, but overall a very nice place.

Over 83% of its residents rate Berkeley an "excellent" or "good" place to live.
