This is a good case for a quiet PC. Out of the box, it has good features for building a quiet PC. It does not include a power supply, so you can go get a quiet one or whatever you want. It is quite modable as well.

Great case if you want to put in a more quiet / higher power PSU than the 380watt in the Sonata. If not, the SLK3700 and Sonata are better deals.

I'm into quiet. This case is highly rated over on www.silentpcreview.com.

I wouldn't worry too much about the shipping with a price like that. $46 shipped is not bad. Newegg is $78 shipped.

I want a case without a PS so I can choose my own.

You can get a really good Seasonic Super Tornado 400 watt (very quiet, efficient, active pc, ATX 2.03) for $75 AR from Newegg. Or whatever else you want.

Ok, I'm impressed. I ordered the case from Provantage. I got my "Order Received" email at 2:52 CST. It shipped 20 minutes later. Wow.

Now as long as they shipped the correct case, I'll be a happy camper.

Nice deal even with the shipping. I bought mine from Mwave.com for 45bux plus the will call fee. It comes with an Antec 120mm fan in the rear and has space for another 120mm in the front to cool the HDD's. I love how the side door has holes right over the video card and the CPU area. I love the rubber HDD screws vibration dampener thingy.

Hmm, that will be somewhat of a challenge. How many watts/amps do you need?

I'm a Seasonic convert. They are very quiet. They start at about $45 for the 300 watt Silencer.

You can find other brands for less that that. However, I would caution you that you don't want to skimp on the PS. If it is underpowered or can't maintain proper voltages, your machine is going to have fits.

I have 3 similar cases. I love Antec. This is not a bad deal, especially now adays people are getting much bigger PSU's than what currently Antec offers bundled with their cases.

There are the Fortron/Sparkle units starting at around $30-35 shipped for the 300W models, with 120mm fans on them..Perhaps about another $5-10 for the 350W.

These are known to be fairly underrated when it comes to how they handle under load...The 350W tends to do as well, or better than, many 'generic' 450-500 watt models.

If one's going 64-bit socket 939, and PCI-X though, those probably won't supply enough juice--The 550Watt model is probably recommended there, and is decently priced for what you get.

This is not that good of a find. I hate to admit it, but CompUSA has a better deal with no rebates. I picked up this case last week for $39.99 in store b/c I couldn't wait for an internet order. It didn't come with a psu. I am very impressed with it, but after shipping this is no deal.

I looked all over CompUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City, and Micro Center's websites and couldn't find the case. Usually, if these stores stock something, their websites have it.

I would have loved to pick one up at $39.99 with no shipping, but I couldn't where I live.

This seems like a pretty good deal, but how does it compare with the $49.99 (plus about $8 shipping) Coolermaster Cavier 3 from www.svc.com?

Both have excellent reviews, I'm really stuck between them:
Antec: quieter, probably slightly better air flow, rubber HDD mounts
Coolermaster: better asthetics (subjective, sure), window (whatever), ???

The aesthetics aren't very important to me (I'll be putting a beige CD-ROM into the black Antec--gasp!).

The fuctionality is important (and the price). Cooling efficiency and quietness are tops on my list (for overclocking). So that means I want to get my own PS. I also like the Antec's semi-tooless design. It does have a door which some people hate, but that won't bother me. Also the Antec is about $11 cheaper. And Provantage ships FAST.

Also, I'll be stuffing hard drives into this case (it will be a server), so 5 3.5inch bays helps me, too.

Thanks for the deal OP! I was about to post asking if anyone knew if there was a way to get a Window for the Antec, but then someone else posted about the Cavalier. I read some reviews on the Cavalier and it seems like the Antec will have a little better build quality & be a little quieter; but I personally would like a side window. Anyone have any suggestions for something in this price range? I was looking @ a SuperLanBoy or Antec P160, but both of those are quite a bit more expensive than either of these cases & I hear the SuperLanBoy is flimsy anyway. Opinions? Thanks!

I don't have first hand experience with SilenX power supplies but I have seen people mention good things about them.

However, on looking up the specs on the 400 watt SilenX Pro PS, I did note some differences with a Seasonic Tornado 400 watt...

Power factor correction: Passive
Fan: 80 mm
ATX connectors: ? (says it meets ATX 2.10 but doesn't specify)
Warrantee: 1 year

Seasonic
Amps: 30/28/22 (3.3v/5v/12v)
Power factor correction: Active
Fan: 120 mm
ATX connectors: 20p/24p/8p/4p
Warrantee: 3 years

Everything else seems to be roughly the same (though I'm not sure if the Seasonic has an adjustable speed fan). The Seasonic's fan probably doesn't have to spin as fast, but the SilenX's fan appears to use some good quieting materials...so that might be a draw. PFC is not a big deal unless you use a UPS or are in a commercial environment.

The power on the 12v rail is somewhat of a concern for the SlienX. And the warrantee is a no brainer.

They appear to both be quiet (I can vouch for the Seasonic). Both are reviewed on Silent PC Review (though the SilenX review is old).

SilenX retails for $115 on their site. I don't know what the street price is. Seasonic is $75 after rebate on Newegg.

BTW, I can confirm that my Seasonic Tornado 400w power supply's fan churns along at about 730 rpm. That is with moderate stress on the system.

I cannot tell if the fan will speed up under load/heat.

Part of how Seasonic makes quiet power supplies is they use a 120mm fan (big) and a low rpm. 730 is pretty low.

My Zalman 7700-cu CPU cooler is rolling along at 930 rpm, and it weighs 2 pounds.
