Is it a great case for the value compared to other cases?
I really don't know right now. I had a Dell P-166 in 1995 that changed to a Celeron 300@450 in I think 1998. At that point I had to swap cases from the "standard" Dell ATX case would not take a different motherboard. I bought a really cheap piece of crap not knowing how important a case is. In late 2000 or very early 2001 I replaced the 300@450 with a 600@850. That's done me until now. All my other components are well upgraded except for motherboard & processor. That will come as soon as I stop travelling a lot in June.
So far, the construction and quality is 500 times better for $85 than the $40 case that I bought several years ago. But I can't say much more than that because I haven't even turned it on and I have so little experience with any other cases. Plugging a DVD drive in was oh so much easier than dealing with drives on this junk case. I wish the instructions were better though, they are rather rushed and not really detailed.
I was going to purchase a $168 / 400w Power PC power supply and a $119 Fong Kai case - almost $300 for case & power supply. I think, judging by reviews and opinions, that this case is quite close at 1/3 the price. Also, the fans I bought were mostly 3 pin tailed. I have some no-tails. I bought mostly 3 pins because I wanted speed to be controlled by the motherboard. Who'd know I'd buy a power supply that had speed controlled 4 pin connectors as part of the functionality of the power supply?
I got the case almost immediately - in two days start counting the day after I ordered. When they said ship immediately, they meant it. Credit card was charged exactly what I expected. Case arrived un damaged and with OK instructions.
