Got an email offering the new Roady2 now. Apparently comes with a FM modulator and a home kit for about $116. Don't know how it compares w/ original Roady.

Mabey when it becomes more of a widespread commodity I will look at it.

I never really listened to much but college radio anyway. Radio is so monopolized it sucks.

That's one thing I like about Sirius. They play some very little known/never played stuff. Hell, just the other day Hard Attack was playing the 20+ minute epic song "I" by Meshuggah. You will NEVER hear that on normal radio. Hell, you'd be lucky if most FM DJ's even know who Meshuggah are. Just from a metal/hard rock stand point I've seen stuff from Strapping Young Lad, Iced Earth, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Vader, Testament, Nile, and a endless list of European death/speed metal that I've never heard of before.

Faction is a station that plays anything from Dr Dre to NOFX to Slipknot to Iggy Pop to Ludacris to AC/DC to The Dead Kennedys. It's like no station you'll find anywhere else.

XM R0x0rZ!!!

My presets (only got 5 with cheap refurb sony unit):

1. 20: Top 20 countdown - yeah, I still listen to the repetitive pop bullsh*t, but its better without the ads and annoying DJs. They play whatever's popular (rock, alternative, hip-hop)

2. 22: MIX - A good mix of rock/pop music from the past 5 years (no hip-hop)

3. 47: Ethel - good alt rock station

4. 65: Tha Rhyme - old skool hip-hop station

5. 81: BPM - good dance music station, they play the poppy stuff with vocals and good beats and remixes of pop hits (80 plays more happy hardcore and 82 plays more trance/house without vocals.)

Other XM radio gems:

26 (Live) - Live sets from the biggest bands of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, and special performances from today's stars.

29 (U-pop) - where else can you hear Panjabi MC, People Under the Stairs, Seal and Daft Punk all on the same station? Here.

44 (Fred) - XM.com says it best - " Until now, the Alternative sounds of the 70s and 80s didn't have a home on the radio. Fred brings you Depeche Mode, Bowie, The Clash, The Cure, The Smiths, liberally seasoned with Seattle Grunge and Punk"

54 (Lucy) - the biggest songs from my junior high and high school days.

75 and 94 - 75 is smooth latin jazz and bossa nova, 94 spices it up with salsa meringue, and Lat pop

101 - All reggae, all a dee tyme man!

And that's just the music channels, haven't even touched on MTV radio, BBC world service, comedy channels, ESPNNews etc!!!
