Hmmm....story disappeared. Well, here's what it said:

During the 2008 presidential campaign, candidates Barack Obama and John McCain fought vigorously over who would be toughest on congressional earmarks.

?We need earmark reform,? Obama said in September during a presidential debate in Oxford, Miss. ?And when I?m president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely.?

President Barack Obama should prepare to carve out a lot of free time and keep the coffee hot this week as Congress prepares to unveil a $410 billion omnibus spending bill that?s riddled with thousands of earmarks, despite his calls for restraint and efforts on Capitol Hill to curtail the practice.

The bill will contain about 9,000 earmarks totaling $5 billion, congressional officials say. Many of the earmarks ? loosely defined as local projects inserted by members of Congress ? were inserted last year as the spending bills worked their way through various committees.

So while Obama and McCain were slamming earmarks on the camp aign trail, House and Senate members ? Democrats and Republicans ? were slapping them into spending bills.

?It will be a little embarrassing for the president if he signs a bill with that many earmarks on it,? said Stan Collender, a veteran Washington budget analyst.

Since you have figured out what "we all say" I am interested in your opinions on this. What is your solution? Can I just ram down the stereotypical solution for you instead or should I allow you to voice your own?

To be honest, I don't know wtf we should do.

I am trying to wrap my head around your arguments then. You state that doing nothing would be worse, but how can you make that statement without an opinion on what we should be doing.
What I'm stating is that you guys are criticizing Obama for doing what Bush, McCain, Clinton or Romney would have done, Now you'd have credibility of you were a supporter of Congressman Paul and maybe you personally were but most who are pissing and moaning aren't including most of the Republican Politicians who are critical of Obama's actions so they really have no credibility.
Agreed.

AND people like Paul are still marginalized, with little support even from within his own party. Makes you wonder just how much of this outrage is really only theater.

basically your point is stupid. But thanks anyway.

I can't wait for the pork report on this one. It'll likely be a healthy chunck of it from the way it reads now and you know there is likely more yet to uncover.

From your own article, stupid. Do you even read what you post? Or do you just start ranting as soon as you read the headline?

"House Democrats unveiled a $410 billion spending bill on Monday to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year ... There was no official total of the bill's earmarks, which accounted for at least $3.8 billion."

0.9% in earmarks is worth cranking up the outrage, eh Cad?

 Can you not read?
I am waiting for the pork REPORT - not just some half-assed total they use as a base figure.
And yes, with the porkulus and this - we are talking about REAL money and REAL waste. Waste doesn't bother you..... now that a D is in charge? Hmm...

The whole problem/crisis, from Western governments to the people in them, is too much debt - way to fix it is not creating more debt. We're digging deeper and deeper.:(

You arent getting it. Youre stuck in this game of but Bush would have! but McCain would have!" It doesnt excuse it AT ALL.

Let me ask you this. Do you believe that Obama passing the largest spending bill in history, eclipsing Bush's spending, burying us deeper into debt fast than Bush did, is evidence of Obama running on a platform of change? And since you like the what if game, do you believe if we had known about his spending before the election he would have garnered the support he had?

It's too early to tell. If it is fairly successful then yes, if not then no.

And since you like the what if game, do you believe if we had known about his spending before the election he would have garnered the support he had?

Well seeing that he was running against thee status quo with Palin as a running mate yes I do. If you guys had picked a better candidate like Romney who would never have sunk to picked a joke like Palin as a running mate probably not.

I wonder when he will keep his campaign promise if fiscal restraint?

When moderator Bob Schieffer asked Obama what he was going to do about the deficit Obama promised to cut the it: ?But there is no doubt that we?ve been living beyond our means and we?re going to have to make some adjustments. Now, what I?ve done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut.?

And its funny on his own website he claims the problem is increasing debt: Under President Bush, the federal debt has increased from $5.7 trillion to $8.8 trillion, an increase of more than 50 percent.

hahaha this country got sucker punched! And its funny how many fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Now its our turn on the right to point at YOU on the left and expose what idiots YOU all are ;)
Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black..angst?

Maybe :) It will be fun to watch you apologize for your hero fucking this country up much worse than GWB has. Hell, only a month in office and he's off to a good start!
Hey he inherited this mess, you guys have no credibility, the only ones that do are those who supported Congressman Paul.
How would you suggest he fix what GWB fucked up?

Wah wah wah. He's the Messiah. FIX IT.. Here's a tissue for your tears.

Do you guys ever tire of blaming Bush and USA.... Fact is world is hurting worse than we are you cry babies and will hurt exponentially more because they can't get money like we can form sovereign wealth and Asia. Iceland is broke, can't borrow. Asia private economy is collapsing. Irish government will default soon. Same with British. Russia, Ukraine, and the EU states of Eastern Europe will soon melt down.

Some links
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl...ireland-debt-recession
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fin...orldwide-meltdown.html

Now if you can tell me what Bush rather than prolifigate spending and not enough production and savings had to do with this I'm all ears.

Well you have been nothing but a 'But Bush' troll since Obama took over. And now you are becoming a But McCain Troll and he isn't even President and never was. Your President needs to LEAD.. he has done very little of that so far.

BTW - The whole 'fixed for accuracy' thing got pretty lame like 4 years ago. Can you come up with something new?

Hello? Do you have a reading problem? "I am waiting for the pork REPORT" meaning I still haven't seen ACTUAL details of these THOUSANDS of earmarks tossed into this bill. Yes, some of the real spending was left over - I understand that but there are also issues with that - especially in light of the porkulus that was just passed.

Well, I sincerely thought we were going to move FORWARD, not BACKWARD. And even if he balances the budget next year he will have already eclipsed Bush's spending. Its now in the history books that up till now Bush was NOT the biggest spender.

Im not sure what you mean by your second comment. I like Bush for some reasons and not so much for others. That hasnt changed....in fact, if you want to take the time to go back the last few years, I have bashed Bush more than I saluted him. So your comment is...well...off topic and incorrect.
