Another smoking review of Bioshock

System Shock 2 was such a great game, I must have played through it 10 times in the years since it came out. Even co-op multi-player is fun even though the levels and puzzles weren't really made to accommodate multiple players.

Can't wait to play this.

Looks like the score got bogged down by a 9.0 in the 'Lasting Appeal' section. Makes sense considering it is a single player game that isn't extremely long.

they probably sent games to review places nice and early to get the hype going. looks like all good reviews so should be a nice game.

did they up the release date by a day? I thought Gamefly said 8/21 was the release date, but now it shows 8/20.

I'm TRYING to get it the day it comes out from gamefly, then use my discount + coupons to get it for around $40.

Our Gamestop store got our copies in today. We got 15 of the LE boxes, with 11 on reserve. Still can't decide if I even want to buy the game or not.

Yeah I thought about it tonight and might just rent it, because once I beat it there is a very good chance i'll never touch it again. I need multiplayer for replay value.

That and I'm not really even that interested in it, despite all the hype and rave reviews. I think I'll use my Blockbuster free rental though.

Yeah, and you can spend 400 or so every other year and stay pretty current; much less than getting all the different consoles to"get the exclusives".

Of course there is also the fact that PC title prices aren't currently rising while consoles are, and a KB/MS does make any FPS irrelevant on a console compared to a PC.

I've played through the demo 3 times now, and remain convinced this will prove to be my all-time favorite game. They just seem to have nailed it on every level - the art (including the whole aesthetic), the graphics, the sound, the gameplay, the controls, the scripting, the voiceover acting - it just seems astonishing in every way.

after playing the demo, i'm sold. this is the sort of game that is so good single player that i would pay $60 for a title with no replay value. i really just feel that the devs of this game deserve my cash.

The first time I played the demo I wan't thrilled, but I was rushed and didn't have a chance to complete it. The second time....holy crap. And watching that video showcasing all the powers sold me.

What platform are you guys getting this game on? For FPS, I tend to shift towards the PC for vastly superior controls, but I also just like laying on the couch and playing the game on the HDTV with the 360. Tough call

I've stopped buying games for the PC altogether. Playing games on the console is so much more enjoyable, even FPS. Even though I'm more responsive and accurate with mouse+KB, the controller makes the game seem so much more immersive, IMO....in addition to the reasons you mentioned.
