Let's start charging the parents with Felony Murder for not securing their guns. Let all of the "responsible gun owner" types actually have consequences for not being responsible.
That might be good start.

You need to spend less time focused on this and more time going and fucking yourself. Here is what we think we know about the shooter.
He used his father's short barreled shotgun loaded with buckshot (probably a home defense shotgun) and a 38cal revolver
He built pipe bomb(s), pressure cooker bomb(s) and molotov cocktail(s) and tried to use some of them and spread the rest around
He was bullied by coaches, teammates and classmates
He wore a black trench coat and boots to school often
He was generally quiet
He played war video games a lot
He talked about guns and which ones he wanted
He seems to have thoroughly planned this out except he couldn't do the last step
He didn't have any interactions with police before this event
So far nobody saw this coming like the other recent school shooters
He kept a journal saying that he wanted do the school shooting
One classmate said he was not normal and was really strange and quiet
He has no criminal history
Guesses:
He was probably seeing a psychiatrist and taking psychotropic drugs
He was a snowflake that couldn't handle the bullying and this is how he responded
Oooooo i got one!
If your kid murders someone(s) with your guns guess what, you go to jail too!
Meanwhile, the trout is in the milk.
When I saw this earlier, I actually thought this was a 'necro' thread, i.e. that someone had responded to an old thread from last year or something, and so discounted it. That says something about how absurd the situation is.
(Partly it's that I haven't looked at the news media at all today due to avoiding all things royal-wedding-related)
I just want to say that when I woke up and read the various thread titles here, I thought this was an old thread necro'd.
How sad is it that these threads are almost as common as "stupid things trump did today" threads? I've officially become desensitized to these shootings now.
Enjoy your guns and dead children.

Umm, I'd rather we not have mass murders by idiot children. How bout we stop that instead of punishing grown ups after the fact?
Except the majority of school shootings have happen with the parent's guns. If you can't secure your gun, you shouldn't have one. If you have one and don't secure it, you should be punished for the results of your failures.Umm, I'd rather we not have mass murders by idiot children. Increased punishments for your guns being used in crimes should be part of gun control regulations.
what about my freedumb to not lock up my guns?
If we can have seatbelt laws then I don't see why we can't have lock up safety laws.
Republicans want to turn public schools into prisons. It's not like these rich lawmakers kids even go to public schools anyways so they don't care what happens to them.Yup, and make sure there aren't too many doors. Access is the clear problem here, not psychos having access to firearms.
I’m willing to bet people kick them out because they don’t feel safe around them in the first place. Correlation not causationI think high school should try to NOT kick people out. It seems to me it is mostly people who got expelled from school that does shooting.
I know you’re not with him on that, but wasn’t that a major factor to Columbine? Blocking the exits to funnel them out?Hannity has the solution, he said it’s so simple. Harden the schools.
I’m so proud of everyone here. “Oh he was a snowflake who couldn’t handle being bullied” “Oh his parents should’ve locked up their guns” “What if we punish owners of guns when they’re used in a shooting” “Well why worry, more likely to die in a car accident than in a school shooting” “Bet he was put on new meds recently”
I’m not saying some of these aren’t good points (or that some of them aren’t asinine) but to me it really feels like there’s a loss of focus here on both sides. Finding something to blame for the ‘why’ doesn’t help right away, and just fixing the ‘how’ needs to be followed up by fixing the ‘why’ or else it won’t be as effective as it would need to be. Sure I could die in a car wreck soon but at least on the road I’m looking out and know I could be involved in a fatal accident any time. I’d like to not feel that way in class thanks.
And for all you out there refusing to make any concessions to gun control, you’re going to lose. I like guns, I’ve shot all sorts of guns, big guns, small guns, old guns, and new guns. Once I’m old enough to get one I plan to have a handgun for home defense and an AR-15 based gun for recreational shooting. I know about the second amendment. But if you refuse to compromise you are setting up an entire generation who will vote in extreme measures so they don’t have to feel like they’re in danger of being massacred at school. Reasonable gun control should be an obvious answer to logical people out there, and by insisting the only right way to own guns is your way your’re hurting yourself. Get smart and realize you’re being (rightfully) left behind.

Almost all the initial reports of this incident reported that the shooter used an AR-15. When the facts started coming out, and the AR-15 reports had to be corrected, the air went out of this story in a hurry. Equally deflated were the liberals who had quickly worked themselves into a frenzy, gearing up for another round of their "sensible gun control" diatribe which was obviously, and is now confirmed as, nothing more than an attempt to ban a firearm that quite literally makes them shit their pants.
.
The TDS in this country has now gotten so bad that the liberals are now actively defending MS-13, encouraging NK to keep their nukes and are disappointed because the wrong gun was used during a school shooting. smh.
