10 to 12 inches of snow expected, but that's from Thursday through Saturday morning so it's not that bad. The temps and windchil Thursday night are gonna suck though.
Two Rivers? There used to be a gravel pit there where one could pull out ice age wood, completely carbonized. IIRC, there was also a place along the lake shore where the wood layer was exposed. I still have a couple small pieces with my rock collection.

The Seattle area ice storm will arrive overnight, today looks good so I am heading up there in a few minutes to hang out with the fam.
They are predicting up to 3/4" of ice through tomorrow morning in the south end where we are, which takes down trees, limbs, and power lines. I'll get extra generator gas on hand. Chainsaws are sharp and I have mix gas for those.
We've seen these things before, no joke. The power can be down for a day or two. We have an all electric house so that's going to suck. I do have propane in the RV so we can move in there for warm.

Power went out here about 0300, but our section of town was restored just before 0600. Parts of OS and the surrounding region are still out. We were SUPPOSED to pick our grandson up at SeaTac this afternoon...but I caught him before his flight and told him to stay home. IF this storm gets as bad as predicted, driving will be treacherous.

No precip in Texas. Temps should test the power grid again. 10° tonight. Glad I'm serviced by SWEPCo, not whatever power company failed the rest of Texas back in Feb. 2021 - when it reached a record 8°. I personally had no outage on that occasion because I'm on a different grid.

It was 48° this morning . .. now . .. . 23° at mid-afternoon. Doesn't typically get any colder than the 20s here. Entire days below freezing are rare.

15-30 inches predicted here. Wind chills -20 to -30. Gusts up to 55 mph.
Less snow, same wind gust speeds, colder air temp (wind chills of -50+) here tonight. It already feels nasty out there and it's just getting dark...winds aren't half as bad as they'll get later on.
Another storm. For all of us here the greatest fear is no doubt is WHAT IF MY INTERNET GOES OUT!
They can't keep me down!! unless the 5G tower goes out too

Denver's temp dropped 47 degrees in two hours. In Wyoming it dropped 40 degrees in 30 minutes.

Not much snow coming to WV but the wind chills are going to be brutal.

Check out some of these temp drops . It does remind you of The Day After Tomorrow.

They've been telling us to brace for a big snow dump here too. Just hope it does not get busy at work, I have Christmas off and hope to keep it off!

I call fake news. I'm at 4500+ elevation and not only is it warmer today than yesterday but it's supposed to keep warming through Monday. If it doesn't affect me personally then it's not real.

Drove through this shit in PA today, total fuckery. Not even a huge amount of snow but it was like 31 and turning into this half ice half slushy bullshit and the plows were really slow off the line.

No snow in my area. But, flooding and lots of rain and wind is a possibility.

Saturday, the high will be 23. No snow though.

-8 here on the south shore of lake superior. Lots of wind, but we already got our snow. My snow piles are already reaching the max limit of my tractor loader.

Pretty mind blowing that a place like New Orleans can actually drop below freezing when the surrounding ocean water is ~65F.

Forecast seems to have changed here. Only getting maybe 10-15cm Friday and then it's only a few cm after that. Probably just getting the tail end of it.

So far so good at work too, network is quiet and no power outages anywhere in our territory yet.
