I am looking to find an old game I played in high school. Around 1994 to 1998. I'm pretty sure I played it in 1996 or 1997, but the game might be a year or two older.
I know this is a long shot as I don't have a lot of information to describe it, but I figured this would be my last best chance of finding it.
I'm pretty sure it was on a CD and I swore it was a D&D type game. I even went through this D&D game list and none of them were it. You played as a nation kinda like Nobunaga's Ambition with an army. You had these "hero" type units that would level up through battles. In between battles you would send these heros on random quests of varying difficulties (which you'd know easy/medium/hard with corresponding rewards) before hand. You had no control of them completing the quest and if they succeeded they would gain experience, level up and get better gear. Randomly however they would just die on the quests and you'd have to buy or hire new heros starting from level 1.
Battles were in a overhead, looking straight down and you would control your hero to go fight, it looked kinda ala Gauntlet type view.
So... Thats all I got. I don't know why but I've just been on a nostalgic tear lately on old games and not knowing this is simply bothering me.
