Liberal talk radio is probably a hopeless venture. Conservatives in america today have a strong authoritarian streak in them, and they look to authority figures (Bush, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.) to lead them.

Herding liberals is like herding cats, and so its really hard to have a media figure that they are going to follow... because liberals tend to think they know better then whoever happens to be on TV or the radio. That's why even though the country is roughly split 50/50 left/right you can think of tons of right wing talking heads/tv show hosts/radio hosts... and on the left you can think of... Keith Olbermann, and (although I would object to this) MAYBE John Stewart.

Well said.

Personally I found Air America as biased and annoying as I do Fox Noise. Both seem made for single minded people.

Well you can bet that no Scientist or anybody else who doesn't ride the Short Bus would be voting for you.

if you believe that you need a lot of help.

Conservatives might respect authority figures more, but their respect has to be earned by actions, not mere words.

If I believe what? That conservatives in america are more authoritarian then liberals are? The best thing is that right after you said that you said "Conservatives respect authority figures more". That's one of the basic parts of authoritarianism, genius. This doesn't mean that conservatives are a bunch of little Hitlers or anything, and a little authority is just what's needed sometimes. What it DOES mean is that they are more prone to look to authority figures to tell them what to do and what to think... which is a big reason why conservative talking heads/radio hosts/etc. do much better with conservatives vs. liberals despite a relatively even partisan split in our country.

Fixed.

As for Franken, he'll likely start focusing on a run for Senate, presumably out of Minnesota? Perhaps he'll at least be able to serve in office without dumpster diving!

There should be a balance in radio for politics. To cheer that one side is down is sad. Can't stomach radio politic shows myself. Radio or otherwise.

I guess I don't understand the hatred of Michael Savage. He preaches the same stuff I hear from you leftists.

1) Bush spends too much and has bad policies with almost everything.

2) The Iraq War is awful.

3) The Democrats are actually honest to what we expect from them, while the Republicans are still banking on the small-government and fiscal responsibility which is complete BS

4) Something must be done about the borders and illegal immigration.

Sounds like a good chunk of the democrats that post here.

As Dave?s self-appointed campaign manager for the Rocky Mountain region I find your comments slanderous and a "below the belt" attack on Americas mentally disabled citizens. The comments made by Mr. Dawn on 01/30/2007 05:22 AM is nothing more than a feeble attempt to sling mud. We will accept nothing but a full public apology not only for the slanderous comments directed towards our candidate but also for the viscous attack Mr. Dawn made towards the people who ride the short school busses.

I hear from Scientist's nearly everyday.

They especially thank me on my personal ringing the bell on Global warming.

I'm sorry but I just have to repond to this Shivetya. "their respect has to be earned by actions, not mere words"? I hope when you said that you were intentionally considering George W. an exception to this.

Please explain what actions of his people respected enough to vote him into office twice in a row? As far as I'm concerned his campaign was nothing but a series of photo ops and lots of telling people what they want to hear and leading people by the nose. I really, really need someone to tell me what actions of his they thought made him deserving of the Presidency.

Yep, pretty much. Lars Larsen advertises his hatred of GW and the Iraq War, and he's supposed to be just as "conservative" as Savage. Talk radio is entertainment for whiners who actually care about labels rather than substance.

BTW, I don't see the deal here. Air America isn't going off the air. Franken was fired and has been replaced by "liberal" talk radio host Thom Hartmann.

First Jerry Springer. Now Al Franken. Good riddance.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16871434/

NEW YORK - Air America Radio, a liberal talk radio network, said Monday that it had reached a tentative agreement to be sold to the founder of a New York area real estate company. The network also said that Al Franken, its longtime headline personality, would depart next month.

The agreement with Stephen Green, the founder and chairman of SL Green Realty Corp., appears to rescue the struggling network, which has been seeking a buyer since last fall when it filed for bankruptcy reorganization after reaching an impasse with one of its creditors.

No terms of the sale agreement were disclosed. Any sale would have to be approved by the bankruptcy court.

air smells cleaner already!

 was thinking the same thing, considering Franken is a pile of steaming feces

good riddance, even libs find him able to induce nuasea after just a few minutes of listening to him

Corbett seems to care enough to cheer. Maybe he listens to it but feels so guilty that he must feign happiness with it gone.

Geez....no wonder you like Savage so much. He does try to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

There are leftists here? Who?

Geez, you've been led so far to the right that you think anyone who doesn't kiss B/C's arses is a leftist.
