Gotta love how the cop sees no repercussion for something like that and the taxpayers pick up a $60K tab....

lol, i would really like to know how he ended up thinking trying to arrest and macing some girl for giving him wrong change was a good idea. If that guy isnt fired as a cop that is a god damn travesty. Obviously he has no buisiness having any kind of power.

How did he get cleared of any wrongdoing? He was obviously in the wrong in everything he did. He had no right to put her under arrest, he had no right to spray her.

Where did this take place. Dayton?

No. She did nothing wrong. She was obviously upset but that only took place AFTER the cop came into the back on his own. This is AFTER the mgr told him that he was mistaken.

what a scumbag cop. using his appointed power to settle a personal dispute. she should have been fired. its clearly an abuse of power and he just made another person hate the police a whole lot more.

if i went in there and had a dispute over the correct change and pepper sprayed the drive up chick, what would happen to me? do you think i would get arrested for assault?

I must admit though listening to her I wanted to spray her.

I agree, yeah I wanted to spray her too, but cops should be above this type of petty dispute especially when all the facts are going against him.

Resisting arrest will get you nowhere.

yes both parties, if I was the cop and I mistakenly thought I gave someone a 20, I sure wouldn't care if I was right or wrong, given that she acted inthat way. She's freaking 16 and she dares to yell at a cop, cussing at him, saying "i ain't take yo damn money mother #$%!@" ?? the cop was pissed, I don't think he cared about the 20 bucks anymore, he just wanted to get the little brat and teach her a lesson, but since she got 60k, I'm sure she'll believe she's above the law now.

at no time did she do anything to warrant being sprayed or arrested. it is not that cops job to teach her a lesson. now if she touched him thats a different story but she stayed away from him and just yelled at him.

uhhhhh cops can't "teach lessons" as they see fit. She did nothing wrong, yes she was loud and rude. But if every cop who was treated that way reacted the same, do you know how often people would get pepper sprayed, or worse? She offered to let him strip search her, he could have done that, then checked the register and saw there wasn't a $20 to be found.

Peper spray is for use in extreme cases, NOT when a 16 year is upset (rightfully so) I work retail and have had cops be total dicks to me. A lot of them give off this vibe like "hay I'm a cop and can do whatever the fvck I want" giving her $60,000 is ok, but I think better payback would be letting her peper spray him back. I think if more police offiers had to experince getting sprayed first hand, they might think twice before using it so carelessly.

"She's freaking 16" You said it all right there. The cop, however, isn't.

Also, the cop said something like "someone has my money" after he threatened to arrest her, and after he threatened to pepper spray her. It's @2:20 on the video.

Obviously he was still upset about the $

How can you possibly defend the cop? The girl was annoying but she was 100% in the right. The cop abused his power which is exactly why people hate cops to begin with. The FVCKING MANAGER even told the guy he was wrong!
