<< If someone believes there is something in that box then they are morons. Nowhere in that title or description does it say anything about being more than just a box. He does not have a lot of confusing, misleading or excessive text. If you choose to read more into his simple description it is not his fault. The seller is not being deceptive. >>

Although i think that John did a noble thing alerting the seller, i don't think that in the end much will wind up being changed. Unless someone plans to follow around this idiot who would spend $300.00 on a box auction and continue protecting himself from himself, he's just going to find some other idiotic way to become parted from his cash.

What was that comedian who talked about making stupid people wear warning signs? I think we have a winner here in the potential box buyer.

<< Good going John, yeah John expose that mofo.

The only thing worse than a deadbeat bidder is a dirtbagg seller, IMHO.

And this guy is neither.

Yakko, you are being disengenuous i.e. less than genuine. You can't think that the seller is honorable. Perhaps he is within the letter of the law as far as the ebay user agreement, but he is outside of contract law, which states that their must be a meeting of the minds for a contract to be binding. The seller and the buyer must have the same transaction in mind. If they don't, the contract is not binding.
>>

That's what I was getting at. It seems some people think that just because he stated that it's a box means he's not being deceptive. So, with that logic, would it be okay if I sold you a car on the internet, and it was a matchbox car? That would be okay?

For sale: One 2001 Dodge Viper, only miles on it are the shipping miles. This thing is puff!!! Brand new paint, new tires, new everything practically. I haven't even really had a chance to drive it. Only problem is it s a small. dent in it. Highest bidder get's it.
>>

Show me a picture of the exact item like this guy did. Your analogy is not a very good one since it is based on words only whereas this seller gave a description and a picture that was accurate.

<< The seller emailed me back:

It isnt a scan attempt. It is clearly stated that it is a box. I made no
reserve or buy it now features and I started it at 1 $. Notify them if you
must but it isnt a scam....

He is right, it isn't a scam, but a very misleading auction IMHO. I was only trying to help out the poor souls that don't know any better. The internet can be a dangerous place, and I consider my actions justified in this instance. As we can clearly see, there will be a few people, like yakko, that don't understand the ethics of being a good trader.
>>

Once again I ask what is misleading about it? It clearly states that it is a box and nothing more. Your actions are not justified. You have ruined an honest sellers auction.
