With how strict some of these ID laws are and how they are increasing alcohol/tobacco minimum age limits, they are being denied the right to drink and smoke (not serious). But alcohol and tobacco are heavily regulated products. The establishments that sell them often have to jump through many hoops to show that they are serious about checking ID. The businesses that are selling the products know how serious government takes checking ID.

Can you point us to where you have to register to buy alcohol or smokes? You know, like you have to do to vote, which requires you to prove your citizenship and identity. The minute you turn of legal age to drink/smoke, you can purchase such with a valid ID proving your age (we won't get into the Fake ID dynamics). The minute you turn of age to vote, you can't vote with or without ID, until you register (yes you can pre-register before your 18th birthday - but that doesn't change the fact that you have to register to vote), which pretty much requires you to provide the same documentation as obtaining an ID does. (do you understand what that means?) Does that clear up the failure in the ideology of your argument?

It wasn't just this case. Crystal Mason got 5 years for a similar vote when she thought it was ok. In both these cases their vote was accidental. The cases illustrated by Rachel were INTENTIONAL. Still can't see the difference??
