Can you lay classy chicks wearing your shitkickers and torn blue jeans with grease on them......absolutely. However, it can't hurt to make a good first impression by paying attention to your dress. Obviously this is more for ppl without a wife and family already. Clearly when I am shaked up with a girl, I will likely just shop for my clothes at walmart.

Maybe but I have never sought after high maintenance chicks. God knows I work with a ton of them (I actually work for a high end fashion company) and it's rare that any of them ever catch my eye.

But back to my OP I was referring to what you are wearing when you are going out to club or bar or place where presumably you are going to meet chicks and get laid. So just keeping it in that perspective it was just a tip for the less savvy not so much a complaint.

I know but it still doesn't really matter what you dress like. I would say that 90% of what gets a girl is confidence not clothes.

thank you thats what I'm talking about.

Yeah...during work, eh, sometimes I'll dress like this, sometimes not. Usually, my high $$$ clothes are for going out...when you should REALLY be dressing to impress (at least if your single. ;) )

I'll interject (sp?) here. Clothes still matter. Wearing certain clothes can exude confidence...but on the other hand, some women like the "I don't give a f***" look.

I feel my best in my blues, hoody and my sh!t kickers. When I see people dressed to the 9's at a club I kinda laugh to myself because it's just so obvious that they are trying too hard to get laid.

Girls don't hate it I can tell you that. They spend 3 hours prepping themselves and they deffinitely notice a guy that has style. But you are right chicks can definitely dig a guy thats wearing his everyday working in the yard clothes.

haha you remind me of my friend. In the end if you have game you have game and thats all that matters, not what you are wearing.

I personally have a strict policy for not buying drinks for girls unless they bought me one arleady.

But not everyone is "feeling their best" when wearing $200 designer shirts.

To me, it just screams, "I'm insecure about myself, so I bought these nice, expensive clothes for you to look at."

*shrug*

obviously looking your best is different for everyone. But this was in reference to my OP, guys taht are already out at the club trying to look money but really end up looking like average joe because they are not very good when it comes to style.

so does this mean that my single vertical striped Gap button-down shirt makes me a trendy wannabe poser?

I get all my vertical striped shirts from BR & Express, I don't want to spend any more than that.

A recent addition to nightlife is the prevalence of the vertical striped button up on men.

Now let me just say I am a big fan of button ups when I am going out whtehr they are striped/checkered/solid color I love button ups and always have.

Now it seems that the masses have been awakened to the growing trend that guys should be wearing vertical striped shirts. Ok this is great, they make you look taller and thinner perfect! WRONG!

PSA: JUST BECAUSE IT HAS VERTICAL STRIPES DOES NOT MAKE IT FASHIONABLE!!!!!!!

Every company in the world is making vertical striped shirts for men now. You cannot just buy one and think you are now "in". Buying a vertical striped shirt is a complicated process taht should not be rushed.

You should throughly investigate all your options regarding the stripes colors, widths and fabrics.

You should not go cheap here.

If you want to rock a vertical stripe shirt I recommend you dont buy it at AE, Abergay or old navy. In order to stand out in a flock of men wearing vertical stripe shirts your going to need an extra edge! My recommendation if you are not fashion savvy is to head over to an upscale department store and ask for help!!! They will piont you in the direciton of some of the nicer button up collections availble.

Ok make your comments now.

bye.

Congrats on coming out of the closet.

Man, I wish I could wear something that casual today. I had a meeting so it was my normal m-th wear instead of cas fri.

Shoes: $110 (Macy's)
Suit: $450 (Mens Wearhouse, cheap but good looking)
Belt: $30 (Eddie Bauer)
Tie: $30 (Macy's)
Socks: $10 (Eddie Bauer)
Boxers: Maybe $3? Part of a multipak... he he he
Shirt: $50 (Eddie Bauer)
And if you include jewlery
Wedding Band: $650 (Custom made white-gold)
Watch: $750 (Tissot)

Total: $2083

Man, I hate being in management. My daily wear is worth more than my car and my computer... combined! lol

EDIT** Oh, and for the record, I don't like vertical strip "button-ups" (such a strange way to refer to them). I like horizontal strip polos instead.
