Why would anyone want to watch this video? All that does is give these bastards exactly what they want - attention.
Oh I don't know. I think, when the aliens attack I will be very glad, long dead though I be, that the entire planet is covered by Muslims. We will pose a formidable challenge to their invasion and enslavement plans given that every single one of us, man woman and child, will be prepared on a moment's notice to die for Earth and Allah.
This is a misconception.
These videos are not really intended to scare Westerners from coming to Iraq, that is just a secondary purpose.
The main purpose is to show it to Muslim kids all over the world, and get them excited about the Jihadi cause.
A video likes this reaffirms their faith in Allah. To them it's visual proof that he's crushing the infidels.

Exactly - they're drawing attention to their 'cause' by posting the videos on the internet. The more downloads they have, the more videos they'll want, thus the more killings there will likely be. The more killings, the more recruits.
I think that the beheadings are done by the same group. I don't think that the action itself is widespread or likely to catch on. It's gruesome and must be difficult to carry out.
The arabs/al quieda had a hard time finding 18 that would fly planes into buildings, beheadings are a little easier to carry out but more macabre and I assume harder to assign. I don't think that your average Jihadi is willing to do that.

I think once the group is eradicated you'll see an upbrupt end to this madness.

Don't watch it.
They are trying to break our will power to continue the fight.
But, we must continue the fight because WE are the civilized ones and THEY are the barbarians and they want democracy but don't know it yet. We're going to give it them, like it or not and regardless of how many of them-including all of them-must die in the name of democracy, freedom, and the AMERICAN WAY.

You, sir, are not quite getting it. I certainly blame Bush and his cronies for what is happening in Iraq. However, I put the blame squarely on Islam for producing a culture capable of glorifying this type of barbarity.
The videos may not "excite" you (I certainly hope not!), but nor do I hear you saying anything against them, nor the practice of beheading "infidels".

My point was that anyone with a soul will decry such acts regardless of who they're carried out by.
It's a lot less sickening when you smart bomb a building, because the dead are usually crushed under heavy concrete and out of site.
Cutting a throat is much more personal, much more graphic and a better leading story in the news.
I heard tumbleweeds too, a few days ago when the US bombed an *insurgent* building, but these so called *insurgents* carried their dead and injured relatives to the hospital, where they immediately decried the US.
We reap what we sow, and this is a perfect example.
