Killing yourself takes courage. Most of these people don't have the tools you or I have to face life so it is much more difficult for them. That doesn't mean facing death is any easier. The great thing is I know I am a good dad. I am involved in my kids lives, when I get home from work I give them my attention and work on school stuff and play with them. I don't need to worry about what some internet people think about it. well goodie for you. my jr high and high school kids have dumb cell phones, why? because they are involved in after school activities and call us when they are ready to picked up form the school which is 10 miles away (yes we live in a rural area) and does not have pay phones like my schools did.

Kids under 15 need no such thing. They need to be around their parents, or in the presence of other adults that have cell phones.

I grew up in an area that didn't have payphones and I didn't have a freaking cell phone of my own until I was 18. I survived that deprived experience. Contrary to popular belief you wouldn't instantly die if you didn't have a cell phone.

My parents were there 15 minutes early to pick me up from baseball, basketball, soccer, and any other activities I had during school.

Your kids have to call you to get off your ass and deal with them. How horrible. Since I already know that you're going to say they need it to call me in case they have an emergency you can just not bother responding because whatever adult is there running said event is going to be the one who calls if there is any problem.

I'm sure you park them in front of the TV after they call you to go pick them up also.
