Well yes, it will take some tweaking and getting used to. Should I also have it search the post? Or at least the thread summary?

It is safe from SQL injections. I'm not an idiot.

What I'm not doing is validating emails and passwords and all that fun stuff because I figured people wouldn't be stupid. But I'm making those changes now.

I already get email alerts by keyword from AnandTech. Why would I use this over the feature under My Forums?

Well, since I already have the tools in place to pull and store the data, is there anything anyone wants? What about getting an alert when a specific person posts a thread? 🙂

I'm not surprised nobody knows about it. The lengths people will go to avoid learning to use the tools they have at hand is amazing.

PSA: did you know that you don't have to post "marked" in a thread so you can find it later? The Favorites feature allows you to bookmark threads indefinitely without neffing. Maybe that's the problem....

Since I originally wrote this to do something I didn't think AT did, and now I see it does, only 9 people have used it, and I don't blame them. But, I'm trying to make it more useful at this point since I'm already pulling the data I need.

If I add the following changes to STAT, would anyone else use it? Or is it a waste of time?

1) Thread alerts by username - when someone creates a thread, you get an alert (oldsmobile anyone?)
2) Replies by username - when someone replies, you'll get an alert
3) A "My Threads" page -- will show all the threads you've created since you signed up for STAT.
4) Anything else you can think of.

Would people use this? Or should I just scratch the whole project?
